I remember on 606 once somebody said they had seen Matt Le Tissier at Bingo - so do you have any oddities to share.

I was once in Ellery Hanly's hotel room - nothing sordid - he was a guest and I worked on room service. He was fucking massive.

I once bought Jim Davidson a bottle of Gin......years back when i worked on the circus,he was doing a TV special.....jeez could he drink.
Also had a word with Barbara Windsor while delivering in Covent Garden...which is a tad strange these days on account of the Aussie take over there.

I got in a lift at the Royal Garden in Kensington and Noel Edmonds was in there - tiny, grumpy fucker. I also nearly got ran over by the fat, druggie Mel Smith in London going to an away game in the 80's - he obviously didn't do Zebra crossings. On the way to anorther away game in London - stopped at Heston and Tears for Tears tried to push in front of me at the cafe - they weren't too chuffed when I told them to fuck off and wait their turn and asked which one of them was Simon le Bon.

Gazza and John Moncur in the Tavern. Me and two mates drank beer with them all night.

Get to see loads in Shepherds Bush with the BBC up the road, news readers etc, no footballers though.

Also

Bill Bailey in Blockbusters (Now Tesco's)
Phil Jupitus in The Green Pub
Jacko's mate from Brush strokes in the green
Holly Vallance in the green
David Grohl walking past the green
Boris Johnson all over
Lembit Opik outside bush tube
That slightly oriental looking bird from E4 outside Angel tube

I could go on...

I once met Robert Huth in Viper Rooms, Harrogate on a night out whilst on cricket tour.  I dont think he appreciated me breaking up his bumping and grinding with a very pretty lady.

I also met Jeremy Guscott at Leekes in Melksham years ago and a couple of weeks ago met the actor who played O'Keefe in Band of Brothers in The British Lion, Devizes.

Another highlight has to be meeting both Michael Vaughan and Devon Malcolm outside The Oval after the Test Match against India in 2007.

Jools Holland bought a fruits of the forest Solero from the Esso garage I worked in as a teen. And I always bring it up, but seeing Frank Lampard in Po Na Na in Swindon was fucking strange. (Lisa Rogers was also in there, but I didn't see her. My mate - who worked there - watched Danny Invincibile having "fun" with her over the bar on CCTV though.)

Also met Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler in the bookies near the town hall quite a few years back. Fowler is a fucking midget.

I saw the Swindon youth team and Paul Bodin walking along the embankment a couple of years back.  We were in London for my birthday and the team were away at Orient that night.  The missus refused to go.  I saw Patrick Kluivert, Edgar Davids and Clarence Seedorf in the lift at the Amsterdam Hilton one night when the Dutch team were staying there and the Brazilian team were in the hotel we were staying at in Berlin once.  Ronaldinho is weeny and Ronaldo is a fat bastard.  And I was sat beside Jan Leeming on a plane once.

I saw Jack Smith and his girlfriend looking at dinosaurs in the Natural History Museum the day after Town drew 1-1 at Hereford on a Friday night (Jerel Ifil scored a great goal).

I was with my girlfriend and wearing a Swindon away top which led to a odd moment where he saw me and must of thought 'there are more swindon fans than i think or... I've got a stalker!'

The stalker assumption wouldn't have been helped because there tends to be a set way to walk round museums/exhibits etc and our paths kept crossing over and over !

Sold some diy stuff to Colin Montgomerie (and had to phone for authorisation of his card as the purchase was over the £50 limit).  Sat opposite Terry Waite on a train (he has HUGE feet, or at least huge shoes).  Peter Osgood kicked a football at my sister's face at a holiday camp many moons ago.  Got overtaken by Dave Lee Travis (number plate DLT 1) on the A50 and overtook Jimmy White (CUE 123, I think) on the M25.

I think it's called 'Living the Dream'.

I played in a golf pro-am at St Pierre, Chepstow a few years ago. We had an early tee-time and were playing snooker in the club-house after the round.  A couple of guys came in, one of them, Stan Boardman, said to us as only a scouser could "Aright lads, fancy a game with me an me mate?". His mate was Alex Higgins!  We just laughed and joked while they went to the bar. One of my biggest regrets, not asking them to put their 10p on the table  :(

Gareth Edwards and Johnny Briggs (Mike Baldwin) were also there.

I was once cycling in Cornwall, with a mate, whose bike was a bit ancient, we were heading down a steep hill into a little village called Cadgwith making for the pub.  Me mates brakes didn't work and he all but took out Rodney Bewes who used to play Bob in the Likely Lads.

Top man, he was heading for the pub, and could see the funny side.

Back in the early 90's had gone for a weekends camping at the Barge...Honey Street.

The place was noted for its ufologists and crop circle researchers.....Reg Presley of the Troggs was a regular.  As luck would have it, a large cheque had arrived on Reg's doorstep, for royalties from Wet Wet Wet's n weeks at number 1 in charts on teh back of 4 Weddings and a Funeral.

Reg insisted on drinks all round...

I believe The Barge is currently up for sale...nice place.

Went with some friends to the Monaco Grand Prix, 2003 I think. We were walking round the track a couple of days before the race, as you do, and passed Mohamed Al Fayed who was doing the same. As a bit of a fan of Princess Diana (saw her in Swindon once btw), I was ashamed that the thought came into my mind "You'd think he would want to stay away from fast cars and tunnels"

Went to a restaurant after the race. Michael Schumacher arrived at the restaurant at the same time as us. He went into a swish restaurant with among others 6 absolute stunners. He wasn't best pleased when one of my mates stuck a cheap pocket camera in his face! He'd crashed out when in the lead that year :crash:.  M Schu that is, not my mate Chris    We ate in the pizzeria next door!

Also saw Helen Mirren and all the Grimaldi family as they drove past us in their open top cars before the race. Albert was driving himself, the others with chauffeurs. Helen Mirren wasn't with the Grimaldis, I should add. She was very plainly dressed and wore a floppy hat.

I had Neil Morrisey and Angus Deyton and bint sat behind me when I had corporate hospitality at Palace. Morrisey was alright but Deyton really was a patronising, arrogant cunt - at least he doesn't need to get into a charachter on telly.
I've also remembered I was in a pub in Schull a very remote part of Ireland and one of the guys from the Bill was in there - can't remember which charachter. Seemed a decent geezer but very obscure.

My dad and I played in a charity skittles match against most of the League Cup winning team in the summer of 69 at *hangs head in shame* Melksham Conservative Club. I was an awestruck 15-year old so never did get any autographs and was too shy to talk to any of them, except Stan Harland who chatted for a minute.

The main thing I remember was that Rogers was useless at skittles, and got mercilessly ribbed by the other players. I felt quite sorry for him!

Flew back from Guernsey to Southampton a few years back in a plane named after Matt Le Tissier, which also had a big picture of him on the side. Walking to the plane from the terminal I saw a big fella shuffling along just in front of me which turned out to be the man himself. He was sat half way back in a crappy aisle seat on his own plane (well sort of) while I had the best seat with loads of leg room at the front. I did consider offering him my seat, but only for a nanosecond :hmmm:

Chris Kamara in Tescos just before christmas last year, really nice bloke even laughed when i told him how i remembered him the first time he played for us.
BTW it was because i was about 4 or 5 and he was the first black man i ever remember seeing.
He actually found this hilarous.

Urika Johnson - Just walking past a car walking into town and out she gets, think she was going to open a shop or something.

Also a couple of years ago, we sold something to Sharon Davies and I offered to go a put in in her car, Very tall and still quite fit.    think she had Personal number plate of SWIM or SWIM1

I once took a piss in the urinal next to Dustin Hoffman at the mens Wimbledon final.
Before anyone says, no I didnt look.  Saw Muhammed Al Fayad on same day as he was sat just a few rows down from me.

Saw Greg Rusedski munch down 2 foot long hotdogs (the fat bastard) at a theatre showing of Dr Dolittle where I also walked past Jennifer Love Hewitt on the way to the toilets.

I have also sat down for lunch with Jamie Rednapp and Nigel Martyn at a golf event prior to the World Cup in 98.  Met all the rest of the squad at the same event, the highlights of which had to be meeting David Beckham and also Paul Ince who was a bit of a 'character'.

In terms of Swindon players/managers - once saw Micky Hazard in Florida during a summer holiday.  Also saw Dennis Wise at a local fireworks display as he used to live near us when I was younger and he was still playing.

Once after playing Millwall at the Den, late eighties probably, me and my mate went for a drink in New Cross in a grotty boozer after the game. On stage in a black leather jumpsuit was Mr clary himself ,under his Joan Collins fanclub monicker. We left pretty quickly as it was pretty lairy, I doubt it ended well for him that night. My fav was meeting Colin Gordon and Colin Baillie in a pub in Thatcham. They were initially pleased to be recognised, until I informed them we were Town fans, this was about a month after they both went to Reading, they left pretty quickly with taunts following closely behind them.

I once stood next to Colin Gordon in the bogs at the CG, when he was throwing up, this in the 86 post season bash, directly after the Crewe game.

Gordon was a fine example of the STFC striker who scores a few for us then goes itinerant and never does as well again.  Hence STFC is the most goals scored slot in their career stats.

Here comes old big head!!! - I've played with or against quite a few old-timers - Alan Ball, Alan Hinton, Steve Kember, Peter Osgood, Ian Hutchinson, Peter Bonetti and quite a few more. Sat at the same table as Tommy Docherty at a football function. Attended a wedding reception when the likes of George Best, Dennis Law and quite a few other ManU players of that era.
Sad to think a lot of those mentioned are now dead.

My mate who played off 3 at the time had a fucking shocker on the day, and Grobbelaar ripped into him big time, taking the piss and doing impressions of him all day. Decent bloke and funny as fuck.

Saw a well pissed Jeremy Guscott in the first Class lounge at Paddington a couple of weeks ago. Mid afternoon on a weekday as well, very impressed.

Alex Hammond (Quinn) off of Sky Sports was at the Swindon Robins end of Season dinner at Blunsdon House last Saturday. A bit short, bit you would.

Nicholas Cage is a regular although he has sold his castle at Midford,  Tony Head - King in Merlin & PM in Little Britain uses the CO-OP on way out of town on his way home.

Seal & his family are moving in, John Cleese now lives here, Francis Ford Coppola - Film Director lives just out of town.  Jonny Depp lives just south of town and is a regular shopper in town.

Oh yes, Peter Gabriel has his recording studio in Box and Beyonce, her hubby jay z and kanye west have all been using it and staying in Bath this week.

Midge Ure lives just outsie of town and uses our Indian Take Away.
