I've heard all these rumours recently about how Austins personal life is effecting his form etc. His form looks ok to me though to be honest! Can anyone say what is actually happening and the problems he has?

My understanding is that his addiction to bricklaying has, despite extensive therapy, resurfaced and sadly he has resorted to paying 'professional' bricklayers to build walls just so he can watch... this has clearly affected his form as he spends most of his nights admiring the handy work from the day before - he's also missed many training sessions and his fitness has suffered as a result.

The news of the screws have got wind of this and are threatening to print his story - Charlie has had to get a super injunction to prevent it...

I hope it stays hush hush as there is definitely mortar this story than meets the eye.

That's what I wanted to say in my post, but it turned into making me sound like a twat - so I deleted it. I hate the idea of spreading potentially destructive rumours about our own players. (Opposition and England players are fine.) It's tabloid/celeb culture gone too far. :)

I keep hearing rumours about Charlie Austin's done this and that. It's always from people in Swindon who don't actually support their local team. There is something about the people in the town that they don't like to see people achieve any success from the place.
Turned up to play football last Sunday morning and people were going on about his miss against Carlisle. Never mention him when he's scored on a Saturday or his performance against Southampton. I've also seen him getting abuse from some lads down the bottom of town after the play off finals about his miss. Again none of these tw@ts support Swindon. Then they call him an arrogant tw@t because he gives them a bit of sh!t back with 'what have you lot every achieved' and 'you lot are just jealous coz you're not a footballer'. What else is he meant to say back to these idiots? The truth is he's right as well.
