Title: Best of luck in the Play-offs
Post by: (.)Boobies(.) on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, 10:33:16
Never had a problem with Swindon, and I think most of you agree it isn't a huge rivalry between us both, just a nice local ish derby. It'd be great to have you back in the Championship.

With the redevelopment of the County Ground as well, things are finally looking up for you. It's good to see.

Best of luck, and fingers crossed Oxford fuck up their final as well!

Not a huge rivalry, but Swindon vs Reading is a fixture I would like to see happen a lot more often.  As you say, once our ground redevelopment has been completed, I could see this fixture bringing in crowds of 20,000 at either ground.

And thanks for the kind words.  (You plastic bastard.)

Have to take everything into context Gazza. Oxford are getting excited about getting promoted to the football league. We're trying to win promotion to The Championship.

Whilst I will be disappointed if we don't do it, I will still enjoy seeing them fuck it up again.

Tbf, 20 years of watching my club isn't plastic.

soapy tit wank at calling Reading fans plastic anyway. No more so than any club that gets promoted to the Premiership and attract fair weathers. Looking at our averages again this season and last, you can't argue with the crowds - and can't really call them plastic either.

In fact, if you look at the Portsmouth's, Middlesborough's et all, their crowds nose dived while still in the Premiership when they were struggling, yet ours was a full house every home game, and planning permission granted to expand to 38k. In our defence, it's harsh to critise our support in all honesty.

Anyway, it would be nice to renew rivalry's.

PS. Phil Parkinson is a Reading legend. He'll want to put one up you!  ;)

Come on, we all know you have a Chelsea scarf hidden away in a draw somewhere.

I always thought that was the origin of the 'plastics' tag anyway - i.e. plastic cockneys (mockneys).

Swindon fans dont take it as a huge rivalry, but ask the plastic new Reading regime, why they sing 'Swindon hate songs' at every home game. Maybe because Reading do not have any rivalries?
