Seriously though he's done well for them, he's got them promoted and got them to within a whisker of the prem. I don't see why they would sack him now. They may as well keep him til the end of the season.

Rumour has it he has a bust up with one of their players and punched him. Probably bollocks but you never know. I think they're fans are still clouded by that good season they had the other year when they made it Wembley.

If he does I imagine he'll try and give him a new contract a la Sturrock.

But they're a Premiership club. Everybody knows that. Even when they spent a few years in League One they were a Premiership club.

As much as I hate to say it he's done a bloody outstanding job, got them up, kept them up, then 90 minutes from Premiership football last season. The BCFC powers that be need a reality check. Their loss will be someone elses gain, I'm sure of that.

They have a chairman building a Stadium for the 2018 world cup and premiership football, being in the bottom half of division 1 and losing to Plymouth was never going to wash. He'd have gone a couple of weeks ago if they hadn't beaten WBA on tele.

Agree. His CV is excellent. Chances are thier new boss wont be as good unless they are going to throw money at someone like curbishly. Never mind, eh?

The Championship has been a bit weird this season, in that a lot of clubs have been sacking managers, and replacing them with managers that arent as good as the one they just sacked.

From what I read it wasn't much to do with results. Apparently he "lost the dressing room" and there was a bust up in the dug out at the weekend, between Johnson and some of the players.

No, about the impact on the World Cup bid. Not wholly sure what that was about myself tbh, got a half-garbled explanation from the resident armchair SlaveTrader at work, but allegedly it wasn't the threat of relegation per se that pushed the board over the edge, so much as the impact on the WC bid.

I've always found Johnson smug and a big fan of his own voice.

Despite his decent achievements (2nd in League One and Play-Off losers) he's never seriously been linked to a move elsewhere which, considering how amazing we were all informed he was, is quite surprising.

My guess is that they'll appoint a reasonably high profile name.

I think that's the point. They beleived they would be in the Premiership, it helps with the planning permission and transport links if the benefits for the city are sold as being able to attracted more supporters etc. The same goes for Plymouth who look more than likely to be in the third division
