The most important thing is that we dont let them make ground on us. A draw would be a good result, although obviously that will start some people off saying we've gone 3 games without a win and the downward slide has started.
So we'd better go all out for the win and just nick it 7-3 with 4 goals in injury time from Pericard

Title: Re: Franchise V Swindon town Official matchday thread
Post by: juddie on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, 17:06:12
thing is, this crunch time was always going to come. No team goes throughout a season not losing games. But the key is how we react. We've done it before, but not under the kind of pressure we're under now. I think we'll do it, but this month is just going to be horrendous on the old fingernails!

this is what it's all about, though. Give me this over mid-table mediocrity. Bring it on.

A note from Franchise

"Franchise assistant manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"They have some good functional players that do their jobs well. It's important that we do our jobs well.

"There isn't a team in this league that we fear. We just have to make sure that we get our bits right.

"Swindon have had a little bit of luck this year that their play has deserved."

Charming.

He's right though. We've had a lot of luck compares to previous seasons and our level of perforance has justified that luck as we've been playing well.

I've just been checking the Franchise website and the report of their weekend win at home to
Orient. They've had some useful players on loan recently;currently Mark Randall (Arsenal) but
Andros Townsend has been recalled by Tottenham. It seems they changed their system and
played 4-3-3 against Orient.

I would have thought that our centre halves would be more comfortable with the Franchise
combination of Wilbraham and Easter, rather than strikers who run the channels. They will
however be a threat, but having lost Puncheon, perhaps the service from the flanks isn't
quite the same? They definately see tonight as a must win game.

Couldn't believe that Orient took 1500 fans to Franchise

What luck? I haven't seen any at our home games.

Take Saturday, Sheehan's shot hits the post then practically bounces along the goal line and no one is there to follow up, then there's a goal mouth scramble and Austin's shot somehow gets blocked on the line and then Rovers score the first time they have a shot on goal. What was so fucking lucky about that?

If we'd had our fair share of luck we'd be in the top two now.

That was just the last game where we were unlucky. Take the Oldham game for example. We got a bit of luck there as we went 2-0 up after being awful. We've had a lot of penalties this season which is unsual for us. Things have gone on our way in general this season. The reason we aren't in the top isn't because of luck. It's because of late goals and lack of goals in the early part of the season.

I thought Wilson might rest Charlie,but i'm surprised about Greer,perhaps he's carrying a knock?

I believe that Morrison had a very good game against Franchise, when on loan at Southend.

Greer I can understand as he was average at best against Rovers.

But Austin????

If its to give him a rest then fine, but otherwise what the fuck? He's a far bigger threat and has a far better scoring ratio than Paynter, so again, what the fuck?

Should have been Paynter.

Title: Re: Franchise V Swindon town Official matchday thread

Bit of an off one. Charlie has looked a bit tired of late but he's hardly had a chance to convert. Greer must be due to injury, there is no other explanation.

Title: Re: Franchise V Swindon town Official matchday thread

Paynter should have been dropped for his lack of commitment! I'd rather play Austin & Peri Peri Pericard and have Paynter warming the bench!

We're going to come out and beat them tonight. 2-0, 3-1, 4-1 sort of thing. I'm going 4-1 myself.

If we don't come out and beat them tonight then worry has got to start to set in.

Charlie could do with getting a goal, he hasn't had one since all the u-21 talk has he?

You are being a bit harsh on Paynter IMHO. Not many chances for either striker in the last 2 games.

That's completely different Sheehan is a loan player Paynter isn't, He had plenty of time to sign the contract but failed to do so, That to me seems like he doesn't want to stay here! McGovern, Morrison etc have shown their committment and intentions of wanting to stay, Paynter hasn't!

Who can blame a player in his prime not to sign until he knows what division and what offers might be around come the end of the season. In football terms he only has another 7 or 8 years to make his money.

You could say the same for McGovern he's older yet committed himself regardless of what division we are going to be in.

they never signed a contract either but both gave 100% every week. As is paynter.

No it isn't. A permanent move was agreed with Leeds and Sheehan turned it down and took the loan deal instead. One would presume this is for exactly the same reasons as Paynter turning down the contract. So its the same.

Except McGovern isn't one of the league's top goalscorers, which automatically puts you in line for consideration by teams in the league above. Also, you and I have no idea what terms Paynter was offered or why nothing has been agreed.

No matter if we've been unlucky to hit the woodwork 3 times,if we can't do the basics
of defending, then we deserve to be behind.

A centre half treading on the ball and then the defence not marking at a corner, isn't good enough  >:(

Come on Town, give it a go in the 2nd half.

Agreed. That's why i'm pissed off. Our defence used to be the best part of our team and now it's quickly becoming the worst.

Fair point....  I can't listen either, which is bloody unfair way down in Sussex... sod paying for STFC World when it doesn't work half the time.

To be fair, look Town fans, we've been spoilt this season.  We've bought a striker for a bag of peanuts who's a better finisher than Ruud van Nistlerooy, we've turned a team of misfits and useless wankers into a team that can compete.  We'll finish in the playoffs, and probably lose in the semis, but who the fuck could have expected this at the start of the season?  We've got nothing to lose - we're surrounded by teams who've much bigger budgets than ourselves - and if we don't go up this season, things bode well for the next...

That said, we'll still win 3-2 tonight...

No need to panic just yet.  Leeds had their blip last month and they're flying again now.  Happens to the best of them.

It's a little bit worrying but I'm not going to get too down about it. Saturday sounded like a real freak result, seeing as we had more shots than Rovers and still managed to get dicked. Tonight could also have been very different - the guy on SSN says it's been a good game and Swindon were out of luck what with hitting the woodwork three times. A win on Saturday could set us back on track and would give us some confidence going to Southampton. If we don't get a win on Saturday I might start getting worried.

A dissapointing result but it doesn't sound like our performance was that bad, we really need to concentrate on Brighton now, with other teams having difficult games at the weekend we need to take the chance to possibly take some points from them.

Wilson post match (paraphrased):

I=interviewer
DW=DW
-------------------------
I DId we deserve to come away with something
DW: Not defending like the first half. Stupid goals given away. Doesn't know why we started sloppily. Better in second half but still not perfect defending.

The tape recorder ran out at this point so I made up the rest
-----------------

I: Why did you fuck with the team?
DW: Suck my balls. Its my team and if you don't like it go and support Oxford.

I: Why did we lose?
DW: Wanker Sean'O didn't play

I: Are you going to do the bummers on Saturday
DW :  You should be so lucky.

I: How will you approach the Norwich game?
DW: Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot.

At Carlisle Pericard was in the last chance saloon with a 6 month contract.

Arrives at Swindon on an 18 month contract and he's drifted into his comfort zone.

For a player of his experience, you woud expect a modicom of effort and ability
to bring others into play.

Charlie chased everything when he came on. You could see some of the players looked genuinely frustrated with other team members.

So, listening to the texts on the radio it would seem that:

1) The manager who's got us to 6th and assembled a squad that's playing some of the best football we've seen in years is an idiot

I remember hearing that text and you've completely butchered it.

I heard quite a few positive messages tonight.

Dave is being negative. I bet he boo'd at half time too..

Can we move his thrice comment into the whingy whingers thread?

I thought I'd gone into waccoe by mistake  :)

Shame about the result, I think we'll lose a few more in the next month, we are now in the mixer...hey ho!

Just back. A better 2nd half, but we really have lost all confidence. Brittle at the back and clueless up front, not helped by the centre backs hoofing it over the top all the time. I actually thought Pericard was just getting into the game when he was taken off. Perhaps he should have risked playing 3 up front.

I still believe the best I have seen us play this season was against Leeds, we gave them virtually no time on the ball and just basically pushed them out of the game. To me the best form of defence is attack. When we sit back we get punished (how many draws have we had this season that could have been victories). We are sitting high in the fair play league.....maybe we just don't put enough challenges in? To be fair I have seen some great last ditch tackles from our players this season, i just wonder whether enough is being done to challenge for the "second" ball, especially in the middle of the park.

Just back what a shit game Morrison was dire out of position time and time again and as for Pericard just did not look interested never chased anything. We dont seem to be getting the rub of the green another shot hitting the woodwork and running across the line with no one following in. The ref bottled it and should have sent the right back off which was a clear yellow for bringing Ward down but as he had just booked him he let him off. When Charlie and Greer came on we definately improved and who knows how different it would have been if those two had started.

Is it true that Morrison was wearing Rocking Robin's boots tonight?

It wasn't just the mistake for the goal he made several others and appeared to unsettle the rest of the defence. But at least he looked like he gave a shit, unlike Pericard who doesn't look bothered most of the time.

Also one of the most gutless refereeing decisions ever, having just booked Stirling he let him off with a warning after he dragged down Ward from behind when it just had to be another yellow card.

Poor performance and not sure what the reason was, maybe we look a bit jaded, but we seem to have lost our way. Changes before the game seemed a bit premature, surely you give the same players another go and that's what we resorted to in the 2nd half anyway. Maybe we were carrying knocks or Wilson saw something in training to make the changes.

Didn't really play our usual football tonight and the ball was bouncing around especially when it went up to Pericard. Goals we gave away were poor defending and we gave a couple of free headers that should have been more goals. Yes we hit the woodwork but Billy missed a good chance before HT which could have brought us back into it.

Bit more of a go 2nd half and we played it around more without really opening them up enough. Last 15 we went a bit longer and we can't seem to play that way. It's frustrating we can't do what other teams do to us, we'll give away a goal and we're under pressure, yet we couldn't pull one back until 93rd min. Then we do get a chance and Douglas should have just smashed it. How many teams have had last gasp shots against us go into the top corner especially last season.

Still onwards and upwards and let's hope we get a reaction on Saturday, I'm sure we are not going to go 3 or 4 games with straight defeats. Annoyingly we have let Rovers and Franchise within a sniff of the play offs when 2 weeks ago they were out of sight

Just seen the goals on SSN.Morrison was quite a way out when he messed up,schoolboy error.Chadwick still had to beat Cuthbert,Wilbraham with the follow up.

To be fair it was much worse than was shown on SSN, it didn't show the fact that he had the ball at his feet facing away from our goal before he seemed to stand on the ball. In an effort to get it back he then knocked it into the path of the Dongs player.
It caught the rest of the defence of balance as they were expecting him to play the ball forward

Some Bollocks, below,.....Morrison and Pericard won't be given the benefit of the doubt on Saturday.  Charlie and Billy up front with Greer at the back to start.

Wilson: 'We've got to get back to basics'
Posted on: Tue 09 Mar 2010

Danny Wilson spoke to media shortly after watching his Town side go down 2-1 to Franchise at stadiumMK.

The manager was frustrated to have seen his side gift the hosts two first half goals - a start from which they struggled to recover.

"We haven't started the game as I know we can, and that's what's annoying," he said.

"The players have let themselves down in certain areas tonight which is the disappointing thing.

"But they wouldn't be at the club if they were making mistakes every week so we've got to give them the benefit of the doubt and move on from it."

Two defensive lapses contributed heavily to Town's two goals conceded, with Sean Morrison being caught in possession shortly before The Dons' first, and James Tunnicliffe being given space to head home the second inside the box, and Wilson admitted there is work to be done to eradicate such fatal errors.
Kevin Amankwaah

He said: "Now we've got to get back to the basic rudiments of defending which we didn't do tonight.

"We drill it into them again, we drill it into them again and then we drill it into them again from now on because we've got some massive games coming up."

To the surprise of some, Gordon Greer and Charlie Austin were replaced by Sean Morrison and Vincent Pericard in the starting line up, and Wilson outlined his reasons for the changes in selection, saying: "We've got a squad of players who are chomping at the bit to play, and both Sean and Vincent were ready for a game."

"We thought both of the lads who didn't play tonight could do with a bit of a breather because there is a lot of pressure on them all the time as captain and centre forward.

"We've got a squad that we have to utilise as best we can, and we know with the games we've got coming up in the next few weeks we're going to need everyone at their best."

"Maybe it was right or wrong to do it, and many people will see the result and turn round and say it was wrong.

"But at the same time it wouldn't bother me to take the risk again because I think it was the right thing to do."

And the manager concluded that, while disappointed that his side could not illustrate their strength in depth as he would have liked, he is confident they will respond positively before the trip to Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.

"We thought that this was a game where we could really show what we were made of but unfortunately it hasn't worked out that way," he said.

"But we will pick ourselves up for another big game at Brighton this weekend and hopefully give an improved performance and get back on track."

Luck didn't play a part tonight. We were shit.

Despite the score lines telling a different story I though we were unlucky against Rovers and awful tonight.

We dominated between all of rovers goals and we continued to play football and create chances plus rovers first 3 were all good finshes.

Tonight we were sloppy at the back and all over the shop. Franchise didn't have to pull out anything special for their goals. Worst of all we stopped playing football and went total HOOF! we created bugger all.

Franchise didn't even have to work hard to keep their lead tonights. Rovers on the other hand did....

Observations of MKDongs game:
> Team selection bizarre: warning signs about Morrison level of performance were clear in the Orient game & tonite just before the goal he nearly got caught with a similiar fuckup.
> Cuthbert failed to talk to Morrison - numerous occasions they went for same ball
> we played too narrow & as a result the midfield was crowded / they closed us down
> manky didnt looked fully fit before his injury & Wilson left him on for 10 minutes when he clearly was limping, which will have worsened it.
> mkdongs were cynical time wasting from the start on throw-ins / goal kicks
> we need a pacy striker / right back cover

I got there at 7-15 and had to park and walk from The Beacon.

Arrived just on kick off at the ground where Ajokefree ended his Swindon career (in my eyes).

What a shit start....and that was just the team sheet!  What the fuck was DW thinking?  Give players a breather?  Fuck off.....we havent got a squad of 40 odd players....play your strongest team.  His decisions came back to haunt him. >:(
If he needed to change it - Ward pushed right up for Austin and the Pompey winger on. Pericard for the last 20 to batter em if needed.

Morrison had a terrible match and i felt for the lad...two chances to rescue his mistake in the first goal build up and blew it. ROW Z please!!

Pericard huffed and puffed but didnt win any headers and couldnt seem to hold the ball up. I still couldnt understand the half wits booing him when he got subbed....what utter cunts.

Ward played well as did Billy - we hit the post twice and the bar without playing well. Improved in the second half but strangely did not create the chances.

Gave the ball away cheap all night.

Ward took his goal well and if Douglas could strike a ball as well as he can pass it we might of snatched a point.

Ref was poor as the left back should of gone for a booking that you would of received in the centre circle rather than through on goal, the lad himself thought that he was going then just wandered away from the ref without even talking to...utter bollocks.

NB - I have only managed football teams at a junior level but even i could see that the only way to get at Dongs was down the flanks...knocking balls forward to giant defenders was never going to pay off....why didnt DW change it?

Looking at all the fixtures March is going to be a long month!

Family do for Brighton so see you all at Saints next week.

Absolutely spot on Dave.

Morrison's performance was a mirror image of the game against Walsall at the Bescot earlier in the season. Just not switched on at the start of the game. Had hoped the loan spell at Southend had improved him, but I would have serious doubts about his long term potential now, and if someone were to come in with a bid I think we should take it? We were far far more solid when Greer came on.

There is a massive difference in our team in terms of the number of games played this season between the defensive players and the attacking players. Defense wise Lukas, Greer, Cuthbert, Amankwaah and Douglas have played pretty much the entire season, only Sheehan has had a break. Its starting to show now. Amankwaah was below par on saturday and he deteriorated last night, Wilson didnt take him off until he was totally crocked. Lescinel looked hungry when he came on and surely he will have to come in saturday?

Got to moan about Pericard as well. The bloke looked like he was pacing himself in the first half. The effort was minimal, which I wouldnt mind, if he had made a difference with some quality. But his was slow, lazy and his first touch was shit. Wilson must have given him a right rocket at half time and told him if he didnt improve he was comming off, and he did improve. But Austin's touch, link up play and effort was infinately better as soon as he came on.

Overall not good enough, especially defensively. No reaction from the Rovers game. A fair score would have been about 5-2 to the Franchise.

As a side note did anyone else see the half time entertainment? Ive got no problem with young girls doing a routine. But they were 11 year olds grinding away to Rhiana's 'come on boy' and to be honest it made me feel a bit sick. The only people who could have enjoyed that were the paedophiles in the crowd, of which Franchise probably have many.

We have been saying all season that we have no strength in depth and now it is costing us. I have no doubt that our first 11 is good enough for the playoffs- but we do not have anyone on the bench who can come on and change a game when things are going wrong. This may go a long way to explain why we have never won a game this season when we have gone behind.

Thought Saturday we were unlucky and did not deserve to lose 4-0, buty last night we were awful. Wilson's team selection was all wrong and had we started with Greer and Austin i do not think we would have lost the game. MK looked very ordinary but we made them look good.

Douglas and Lukas are our two extra captains on the pitch.

Truth is Morrison just didnt have his brain in gear and Amankwaah was half crocked.

Cuthbert did have strong words with Morrison on the pitch, but there was a lot of chat going back the other way from Morrison when he should have been listening to his senior partner. Something I also noticed in the game at Walsall.

Neither Douglas or Lucas play in the actual 4 more defensive line.

Captain or not, evert defence needs a senior leader. We dropped ours and have no replacement in the same mould.

I also agree that Jude Stirling should have been sent off. How that wasn't a second yellow I don't know.

fuck it, what's gone is gone. You can complain about team selections/referee's decisions, but you can't change anything. The fact is we've lost and we need to deal with it. Hopefully lessons will be learned from this week. I expect us to at least draw 0-0 saturday. Keeping a clean sheet is the first step to recovery. If we can pick up a point at Saints as well then we rally again for Leeds/Norwich. Anything can happen in those games. We're still sixth and cleat of Hudds regardless of whwther we win our game in hand, and all the top teams have to play each other, so lets not start panicking just yet, eh.

Decent post Flash agree with pretty much all of that particularly the above. Seems a fair amount of Town fans have got their next scapegoat which has taken all of 3 or 4 sub appearances, and whilst I too would rather have Charlie starting I think that was shameful.

Comments about the MK Donuts ground/fans/set up etc which too made me feel bad that my hard earned dosh was helping those fuckers carry on, and about the Swindon fan making a twat of himself basically slagging off anything and everything that moved were spot on.

DW may not admit it but leaving Greer out was the biggest mistake. Greer and Cuthbert remain easily our best central pairing at the back (even taking Rovers into account)and whilst I hope that Morrison develops into the monster defender for the Town that we want, right now injuries aside he cannot do the job that Greer does particularly with the ball at his feet. When Greer came on the distribution from the back improved massively and we started to play a bit more on the deck.

Also a mention for Ferry who probably covered the most ground out of any of our players last night both going forward and defensively, the radio twats may not have mentioned him but his efforts didn't go unnoticed by all, and for Danny Ward whose efforts deserved a goal.

Hope DW starts at Brighton with the team that finished last night. A win and we're back on track and even with the hard month coming up we've still got a great shout for the play offs.

FWIW, I think we'll win Saturday and lose Tuesday. Then Leeds/Norwich, who knows. Either way, we won't be the only team dropping points between now and the end of the season.

Wilson and the lads have got us this far, and you don't become a shit team overnight.

It's going to be ups and downs until the ed of the season, with hopefully more ups than downs.

You have to be pragmatic in defeat and learn from them. Hopefully wilson will have learned that resting greer is a risk, and won't do it again. He can rest in june when we're in the Championship.

Flash probably because Thames Valley Police (oxford, reading) hate us.

What did Pericard do to deserve praise then? His first touch was bad, his running was bad and his link up play was bad.

Austins first touch was a one two with Ward which almost had him through on goal. I didnt boo Pericard off, and I didnt sing Austins name while he was on the bench. But scapegoat? Pericard, Morrison, their keeper Gueret (who hardly had to make a save) and the injured Amankwaah were the worst players on the pitch last night.

A fair few of our fans were on Pericards back right from his first touch, like I said after a few sub appearances only this was ridiculous, they had already made their minds up. He did not cover himself in glory by any stretch but with the long ball ('Hoofball') service he and Billy were getting it is no wonder they struggled (yes including Billy). Charlie has been a revelation since joining us he deserves the plaudits and in my opinion should have started but Pericard did instead. If he gets half the success that Charlie has managed then I expect we'll all be happy, if he carries on making zero impact then hopefully DW will not pick him. He doesn't deserve praise that's true but equally getting on his back already won't help him or us.

Mistakes in defence cost us last night and frankly saying we deserved to get beat easily with the chances and luck we had in my opinion is bollocks, thought we deserved a point.

time to bring ritchie in and use ward up front perhaps? only if paynter or austin are injured of course.

ritchie was one of our better players on saturday from what i saw

I think Pericard is very much a confidence player.  He looked like he hadn't played for months last night but i still don't think he's a shit player.

He's only had 4 or 5 sub appearances for us, hardly a long run out in a team to warrant fans judging him as a bad player. I just don't understand fans booing a player, it certainly doesn't do the players confidence any good.

Whilst he hasn't made the impact Austin has give him a chance before writing him off

I'll happily eat my words if he turns it on, and I understand it must be difficult coming on and not starting. Even so, he just looks gangly and, well, just shit!

Still, a goal could sort him out, here's hoping. I'd love nothing more than to be proved wrong. Wilson must know something we don't.

I don't think Pericard is anywhere near as bad as Hutchinson. He's shown he's got something and I reckon its just a matter of him needing some time to get going, a goal normally works wonders.

I don't think you can underestimate the importance of charlie's first goal. Must have been such a confidence boost, to be able to do it at this level.

It may seem harsh to judge him on the limited football he has played for us, but thats all most of us have to go on.

It was discussed on the way up whether he might start and how did we think he would do if given more than 10/15 minutes.

Big dissapointment all round. He didnt look threatening at all and Franchise didnt have to do much to stop him. I dont think he had a shot all game.

The team didnt help him playing crappy hoofball but Paynter had the same service and hit the woodwork twice, Austin managed to get in a couple of times. At least they had the application to at least try.

I think what pissed me off most about him was the way he slowly walked off like we were 2-0 up....

As for Morrison, young player of course and he isnt going to be perfect and he will make certain mistakes you can put down to age and experience. Last night wasnt one of them. I dont care if you are 9, 19,  29 or 59  you clear your lines and dont fuck about with it.

If Big Kev isnt fit for Brighton then we need to go with wing backs. I dont want to see Cuthbert taken out of the middle at all and I dont really want Morrison in there either.

Lucas

Cuthbert
Greer
LJF

JPM
Sheehan

Ferry
Douglas
Easton

Paynter
Ward

as for Pericard Vs Hutchinson - Hutch is 1 up in goals scored!

.....and we didnt deserve anything from that game. Franchise had another 3 gears they could have used in the second half if it ever looked like we might come back into it.

when we dont win the players who come in are the ones singled out for stick.
morrison,smith,ljf,pericard have all had this.
smith at southend unfairly, morrison at orient unfairly, ljf nearly every game he plays.

morrison fucked up from the footage of the goal last night, but he got punished because he's a centre back.other players get away with giving the ball away because it doesn't get immediately punished.i would never have dropped greer, but i think people are too quick to jump on morrison.from where he was on the park it wasn't a case of clearing his lines.if he had, he would be getting stick for being a hoofer.he dwelled on the ball and got robbed of it,it happens to every centre back.

I have no problem with him having time on the ball when he has got it, when he's under pressure he shouldnt be trying drag backs and passes. Just put your fucking foot through it.

It was inexcusable

Most people are selective when they're handing out the stick.

Greer fucked up for the first Rovers goal, Morrison fucked up for the first MK goal. Yet its only Morrison getting the stick and people calling for him to be dropped. Sheehan fucked up against Rovers as many times as LJF did in the away game at Rovers. Yet its only LJF that gets the stick and people calling for him to be dropped.

Which is all pretty stupid anyway as most of the goals we concede are team efforts rather than down solely to an individual. Lets not forget all the wasted chances that if scored would lessen the impact of goals conceded - Douglas has been one of our best players this season but he should have scored a good few goals by now.

I think thats unfair as Sheehan and Greer have been consistently better than Lescincel and Morrision overall with there performances this season.  I also think giving Morrision stick was stupid last night, hes a young guy who made a howler, he knew exactly how bad a mistake it was and didn't need the fans on his back every time for the rest of the game making him more nervous than he was already.  Last night was one of the worst away atmospheres I remember for sometime, so negative and only ended up making the team more nervous than it was.

I am a huge Greer fan but the lack of pace wasn't the issue on the fuck up, he should of been marking Kuffour tightly and not trying to play offside against a very fast player.  Would still play Greer in the back 4 every game as we really lack leadership in there without him.

I agree with some of this.Greer was at fault for more than one goal on saturday and desrved to be dropped/rested considering he has also been injured lately.Morrison has played well when relied upon and made one mistake yet people are all over the poor fucker. If anything i would start questioning why when we are losing Wilson is reluctant to play 3 out and out strikers when chasing a game instead of replacing amankawaah with another fullback and morrsion with another centre half he may aswell go for it.

Don't get me wrong Wilson has done a great job this year but just seem to be lacking when we are chasing the game.

In you opinion. He had a good game v Stockport. I think we did my opinions on his Orient performance to death.

The point isn't to crucify Morrison, he is young and learning. Its about playing our best 11, or not.

Sheehan fucked up against Rovers as many times as LJF did in the away game at Rovers. Yet its only LJF that gets the stick and people calling for him to be dropped.

He did. But LJF cost us goals, up to Rovers Sheehan was solid.

I only crawl out of the woodwork when there's something to moan about.  Back to back defeats against despised and lesser opposition is something to moan about.

In true Swindon Town style getting a play-off position will be a nail biter, unless we truly mess up, which I cannot see Wilson and Shirtliff putting up with.

I often find Wilson's substitutions and to a lesser degree tactics bewildering. On the rare occasions we're chasing a game he doesn't seem to have a fucking clue what to do, which is kind of weird given the number of times he's seen our opponents come from behind - he should have learnt a trick or two from them.

But I can't be too critical as he has turned the club round in a pretty short period, taking us from fighting relegation to chasing promotion. A lot of it is just frustration as we could easily be chasing 2nd and virtually guaranteed the playoffs if certain things had gone in our favour and with a bit more luck.

That was good old Dick Mackey, Kev had clearly completely done his hamstring/back after shooting wildly over. Dick Mackey looks over him and gives the bench the thumbs up to say he was OK when he clearly wasn't and all of us could see it straight away when he got up.

Going back to this game, Wilson sounds well pissed off in his interviews today.

He's an angry man. He gave Morrison and Pericard a massive chance and they both let him down big time.

But singing the name of a player on the bench is only going to result in massively pissing off the manager. Hopefully the fans can respect Danny Wilson's decisions today.

BUT smart arse fans are guaranteed to piss off a good manager. I thought Austin was a bit restricted in his running at MK and fans have to remmember we dont know everything.

I would be very interested to know how Pericard played before he was subbed today.
