Title: Macca
Post by: matty on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 08:55:30
Portsmouth scouts at the ground last night according to the adver.  Pretty obvious who they are watching in my book.

I can't see him staying here more than a year, two max.  He is way too good for league one level.  It seems as if every team we play against at the moment comments on how good he was which only increases the coverage he gets.

I sat with a mate who is a QPR fan last night and he was impressed with him too.

it would be a massive shame to lose him, but as long as we get lots and lots and lots of money for him and he helps us this season, it would be a plus. we all know he's gonna go, it just depends when, to who, and for how much!

Post by: janaage on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 09:04:50
i'm hoping he won't go until the end of the season, we've brought him in from Watford reserves, he's playing like a legend, I do wish the fans would get behind him a bit more though, a song would be nice!

You Can't tackle, Can't tackle, Can't tackle McNamee (Police - Don't stand so close to me).

There is also the McNameeee, hey!,  McNameee - to that Dr Who song tune

To the Pogues Irish Rover

He's only 4ft tall
he's a wizzard with the ball,
he loves to get those crosses oooooover,
he'll fly down the wing
and he makes the swindon sing
McNamee's the best since our Don Roooogers

(couldn't think of a better ending)

He loves it here and I can’t see him being to happy sat on the Pompey bench after getting a sniff of the salty glands of first team football.

A lot depends on how consistent he remains but I think we’ll see a another season out of him in league one and then he’ll be off unless were in the Chumpship.

Macnamee is god.  Sign him on a 40 year contract with no chance of leaving, ever.

As thats unlikley it will be a sad day when he leaves.

Our best player since........ i really dont know when. I'm struggling to think of an STFC player that I've seen who can equal his skill and entertainment level thats for sure

Indeed fatters, if he keeps his form and stays injury free I can see a bid coming in January.

We'll never keep out best players, name a football league club who can, but least we are in a position to resist the first bid that comes in.

He has obviously improved on anything he did at Watford, most impressed with him - but that next stage up to Championship is huge, to the Premiership it is enormous.
Macca needs to stay here at least a season to gain match experience and confidence, he's only a youngster, let's hope he receives the right advice and stays put.

Running down the wing, hear the swindon sing
Viva McNamee, Viva McNameee, Viva McNamee
Running down the wing, hear the swindon sing
Viva McNamee, Viva McNameee, Viva McNamee

Have a look on You Tube for Man U fans singing it.  I hate Man Utd but I have to admit they do make up different and original songs.  We generally just rip off other peoples although we are still the only team as far a I know that sings 'do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do FUCK OFF' instead of our team name!

I prefer the more up tempo songs for exciting players, let it be may send some of the senior folk in the Arkells to sleep.  Also not sure how the speeded up, clapping included, "town end" version would sound.

Good lyrics though!

Firstly, Portsmouth scouts could have been looking at anyone from either team...

secondly, the most obvious and best McNamee song is 'we all dream of a team of McNamees'

Number 1 is McNamee
Number 2 is McNamee
Number 3 is McNamee
Number 4 is McNamee
Number 5 is McNamee
Number 6 is McNamee
Number 7 is McNamee
Number 8 is McNamee
Number 9 is McNamee
Number 10 is McNamee
Number 11 is McNamee
Number 12 is McNamee

we all dream of a team of McNamees
a team of McNamees
a team of McNamees

we all dream of a team of McNamees
a team of McNamees
a team of McNamees

Number 1 is McNamee

Number 1 is McNamee
Number 1 is McNamee

Should be changed to Number 1 is Brezovan, Number 5 is Ifil, Number 6 is Kanuka.  He's a bit short for centre back or in goal. ;)

Otherwise I approve of this team of Macnamees.

Number 3 Yinka Casal
Jerel Ifil number 5 (the beast)
Lilian Nalis gets the ball
McNamee he runs it all
Simon Cox about to score
and that leads us back to goooooooooooaaaaaaalllllll

Brezovan is number 1.......

Firstly, there were around 10 or 12 scouts there last night from all Divisions so who has actually said that it was Macca being watched?

Secondly, i've heard on more than one occasion that at away games he is an expensive luxury that we can't afford.... He can't do the business away from home.

Now I admit that I haven't seen him at an away game so would anyone care to comment......

I'd accept a sale (for really good money), and a season long loan back. Chances are if he performs he'll be impossible to keep at the end of the season anyway.

I would assume that we would have to pay a percentage of anything to watford, as I would be suprised if they let him go without some sort of sell on.

No idea like, but I thought I would throw it into the mix??

Have you considered that maybe the drum and us winning are related, but in a way that you don't expect? Maybe the same thing which effects the dude and makes him decides to bring the drum also makes the team win. That would of course mean that bringing the drum for another reason (ie. thinking it will make us win), will break the relationship between the two events.

You've got to accept that it's a possibility.

I also think shouting "DIE" just before he kicks the ball might scare him, but would also probably be too extreme.

I just want to double check.

Are we shouting this at our goal keeper or the oppositions goal keeper?

Thanks.

No, as your entourage, like an ancient mythical hero, but instead of a pack of snarling lions on chains as leads, you have a pack of snarling badgers on chains.

Chippenham fans had a drum today but got told by the old bill to stop banging it because the neighbours were complaining.

They were playing in Ashford which is under Heathrow flightpath.

Also, if any cunt brings a drum and sits next to me it will be wrapped round there head.

Nothing like a fun game of match the person to the poster. I'd probably be looking for people who look like their avatars, which would make identifying most of you a touch tricky.
