Title: ....and now back to the football.
Post by: DiV on Monday, December 17, 2007, 18:57:59
....right so, even I think it looks like every in signed, sealed and delivered....now back to the football.

We need a manager, not just a manager but a good one at that. One that has a good track record and has done a decent job with some other clubs.

However, I hope with the new board we dont have to accept a manager thats out of work, or a manager who is cheap.

I want us to pick who we want then go after them, not see who is available then decide who we want out of them lot.

Personally I want Martin Ling. He's done a very good job with Leyton Orient and they play some nice football. He's slowly built them up and been given time to do so.

I want Fitton to select his man and go get him. I want to be that cunt of a club that steals another ones manager.

The time to do that is now, well tomorrow anyway

totally agree, Ling would be a great choice. I cant even begin to imagine playing good football again after years of total and utter shite.

was trying to make it less about the actual manager and more about selecting one and going after him, instead of selecting one from who is available...

Don't want that cock here, he's never done anything, he couldn't even get MK mongs promoted, need i say more.........

I want Ling or Cotterill, Micky Adams name keeps going around as the person Fitton will appoint, i'd rather have him than Allen.

I dont want Ling I think its a recipe for disaster

If he did come id support him 100% though (unlike the last 2)

I dont want any of those 3 to be honest.

I remember a Fitton interview once along the lines of:

"I have 2 or 3 in my mind, but I am not sure that they would be interested"

Makes me think that he is thinking of somebody we have all of thought also, but we thought "Nah, he wouldn't wanna come here"

I think that Mr. Fitton might give us all a very nice, and unexpected xmas present this year.

my dads mate is one of the important stewards, told me fitton was at the county ground at about 10 in the morning on saturday on the phone to ling. And ling has fallen out with hearn at orient. make of that what you will

I'd like Ling due to his affinity with the place and he is going to be hungry for more sucess after having a taster at Orient, failing him I'd like to see Mike Newell be offered the job

I have a vague (Possibly drunken) recollation of Ling moaning about Orient's attendances this season. I am sure that I read it on the web, perhaps somebody who can be bothered (Not myslef right now) could dig it out, from the internet of course.

It was on here, someone copied some info from somewhere.

If Barry Hearn of poker and golf fame is the owner of Orient, then he's a bit of a cunt by all accounts and would explain ling falling out with him.

Good manager.......however after grassing on his board i'm not sure whether many clubs would want to take a chance on him, he did the right thing but it may put a lot of people off.

Wanted, good manager who can sort our team out.  In exchange for some useless greedy bastards who will guarantee you relegation & bugger up your finances. they are also guaranteed to lose you loads of fans, the local council, & local residents.
These people are serious investors, & will part with  a quid in exchange for the rights to the "admin budget".

I still wouldnt bother paying for an employed manager, theres some good potential candidates out of work currently

Newell
Adams
Cotterill
Simpson ....... to mention a few.

Ling has achived nothing more than any of them.

I agree CT Fitton said in his interview he would prefer a manager that doesnt need any compensation paid as in his words "Town fans would rather we spent £500k on players rather than £500k compansation to another club for a new manager buying out his 3 year contract"

Its perfectly logical. If there were no decent out of work managers then it would be totally different, but for whatever reason there is a decent pool of managerial talent unemployed at the moment.

What????  I demand we should spend £500k on players AND another £500k on a new manager!!

If I knew he'd be this stingy I'd have wanted the current lot to stay!!
