Nope, I might give this one a miss though - might use the League break to catch up with one of my mates from uni before I disappear again - in 25 days!!

Hate to join the bandwagon but Bart does make a valid point.

I wonder if clubs will refuse to give Town any tickets going forward if we don't pay up?

bart does have a point. i won't be buying tickets for away games in advance unless absolutely neccesary.

if you don't like the politics - which you've been involved with, no? - then don't read it. easy innit!

Title: Wycombe.
Post by: Bushey Boy on Thursday, November 1, 2007, 13:10:19
The point is this game is all ticket so you have to pay for it at STFC.  I have been involved in the politics and if honest wish I hadn't.  Its just everytime a thread is made it goes political.

Was out for a curry on Sat night with a STFC supporter and he was raising good points about the board.  They have ensured we have a club at the mo, maybe fucked but at least we have had 5 years of a club

Title: Wycombe.
Post by: Colin Todd on Thursday, November 1, 2007, 13:11:38
I think withholding money from other clubs for as long as possible is a good idea, better off in STFC's account than theirs.

Admittedly transfer embargos arnt good though

We should just give Cheltenham Blair Sturrock or that Anzite chap and tell them to fuck off, the conference-bound wankers :D

Title: Wycombe.
Post by: Luci on Thursday, November 1, 2007, 13:21:23
I don't think its political, I just think people prefer to disagree with Bart no matter what he says asd ignore the fact his point was very valid.

Anyway, I think we'll lose at Wycombe.

Paul Lambert said almost exactly that. I was a bit bemused by it to be honest!

Post by: reeves4england on Thursday, November 1, 2007, 15:29:10
It's about as close to a derby as we get behind the Bristol teams.

We usually take a lot there. Remember especially that game where we almost filled the away end by 2.15pm and won 3-0!

Hopefully we'll take a fair few - makes it much more fun  :beers:

With cup matches receipts are shared between the two clubs, so if STFC don't pay them the receipts, they just can deduct it from their share.

Brady would have built us a ground, made a fortune for himself, and we'd have been in a better position than now. How do you like them apples?

Have you only just figured that out?  Thats 6 and a half years actually.
And who was in charge before then?

But lets think about this one Ash. Have they actually saved us, because as far as I can see, the debts from 2002 are still there! Theyve saved us from NOTHING!

Brady would have taken us down, but that was their fault for letting someone rack up endless debts on behalf of the club. But they did learn a thing or two off Brady, because they have been doing the same thing he did ever since. Now we are apparently £11 million in debt, instead of the £3million.

So I dont know who has been feeding you bollocks? (Probably Puffett). But dont get on here getting holier than thou, because you are spouting SHIT! No offence.

As for Puffett havent spoken to him in ages.

Well you are still wrong, because Brady left the club of his own accord and said he didnt want any more to do with Swindon. It was Donnegan who was removed by a court case. We might have gone under with Donnegan, but he was only doing the same as what the current board have done, wrack up debts on our behalf. Saviour my arse.

The 'at least we still have a club' is equally baflling and ill informed. Dunwoody have taken millions out of the club. Its the 'thank you soooo much for ripping us off' (again).

Either way you are talking bollocks.

Well done. You managed a real fact. As you can clearly see in my most I said went bust in 2003, reformed as AFC Swindon in 2004 and had 3 successive promotions after that.

the phrase you're after is 'barely traded and had a shit team (bar one or two seasons) for 6 and a half more years'

not to mention the way we've been treated

you're starting to sound like gary in his board defence mode  :D

Don't want to sound pro-board cos I'm not, but Ash does have a point. As there's been no communication fans and club they could have saved the club several times and we'd have been none the wiser.

I tend to agree. Brady had the funds to build us a ground, and had he done so we'd be a lot better off. even if he'd done it in a dodgy Kassam style way. eventually we'de make money as appossed to staring longingly at the accounts thinking that "that £40 000in interest payment could be better spent.
