I don't want people to go on about how our season is over, especially after the fortunate results we've had this weekend. the table now looks like this:

We are THREE points off the play offs now!!! THREE! Anything is possible!
7 games to go. Likely points (imo), around 12

That would give us 69 points. Maybe unlikely but that would give us a chance of getting up there. It is still wide open, and anybody from Hartlepool and Bournemouth to Barnsley and City have a CHNACE of grabbing 5th and 6th.

We're not going to beat Hull & Hartlepool away are we?

I might put some money on us being relegated next season when half our first team has left.

That's more like it PM!!  I just can't see us getting any consistancy between now and the end of the season.  It's better to be realistic than optimistic, you don't get so disappointed when things don't go your way.

How ever much it pains me to say it i agree with PM and JA!  I am also old, bitter and cynical  :D   As JA said it is better not to expect too much then you are not dissapointed and then when we do achieve something feels even better.

Saying that, of course we are going up, we are the best team in this league by far!  What is everyone worrying about  :?

Well I'm going to build by hopes way up because that's what football's about - Highs and lows, building your hopes up and having them dashed in the 120th minute at a soaking wet athletics track in May.  Equilibrium is for every day life and we go to football to get away from that.

So I say we can still do it.  Who says we're not goint to beat Hull and Hartlepool away?  As you can predict the future, can you do my lottery numbers for me please Piemonte??

i think we have a good chance but we still have to win 6 from 7 games which prob wont happen! if we had one on friday our chances would be very good with the 2 extra points but that just aint happened so im still not optimistic

so we havn't got a good chance then? :?

Basically to stand a chance we need to win all of these games. Out of that, so far this season we've beaten 3 and lost to 4....

If we repeat that (I dont think for one second we will) 3 more wins wont be good enough....

We don't have a prayer in any of those away games

I think we have a chance against Hartlepool, they're really struggling at the moment.  Probably have a chance against Udders too, but we'll get nothing against Ull, Tranmere.  We'll draw against City and Walsall and beat Chesterfield.  And that's being optimistic, hardly PO form is it?

Huddersfield- two words. Pawel Abbott. He's the only player whose really scared the hell out of us this season and provoked mistakes.

Well when you think about it we should be already up there. Just think.

Saying that we got that 4-2 v Hull and the 3-2 comeback v Wednesday

Ummmm how about the MK match mate?  The missed pen? virtually the last kick of the game?  Don't get me wrong I'm not blaming GS, but you do have to say that we threw two points away last Friday.

Bristol City (H) - Fairly confident, just put Fallon up front and they'll poo themselves. 3 points.
Hartlepool (A) - In poor form lately, especially at home losing to Wrexham, Huddersfield and drawing with Blackpool. 3 points.
Walsall (H) - Provided we're up for it then it should be no problem. 3 points.
Hull City (A) - Tricky game, but 'big' games like this we always seem to have some vague chance. 1 point.
Tranmere (H) - It'll be tough and we'll probably cripple under the pressure. 0 points.
Huddersfield (A) - Not in great form of late so possibly a draw. 1 point.
Chesterfield (H) - We've not lost the last game of the season in the past three years we've had home games, so I'm going to go for a win. 3 points.

So that's 14 points, meaning we'd finish on 71 points only two points behind our final points last season...

City- yep, I think we'll win- 3 points
Hartlepool- a draw at Blackpool in their form is OK- 1 point
Walsall- should win really- 3 points
Hull- not a chance, they're trying to win the league- 0 points
Tranmere- A hard game although they don't really have much to play for in a sense- 1 point
Huddersfield- tough, long haul away game- 0 points
Chesterfield- battling home win- 3 points

68 points. We're not going anywhere  8)

I think we might win one of the away games because we're that kind of team. 68 points is probably about right though, that would probaly only leave us about 3 points off.

By the way, my post was blindly optimistic and I was trying to look at it in the most positive and optimistic light I could possibly manage.

Oh yeah and Davido, I don't think Pawel Abbott's as good as you make out.  But we shall see in due course.

Not that I am disagreeing with you for the hell of it David (although I do find that to be a very agreeable past time)  but you have not got the faintest idea how we are going to do , neither has anyone else.   That is one of the many reasons why football is the best thing in the world. My 'predicitions' could just as easily be correct, the same as yours could be. :wink:

 Interestingly we've not won the final game of the season once since 85/86....when we beat Crewe at the CG to get 102 points.

  That was in 02/03......when SSP and Migs scored v Loooton at the CG.

Now THAT is interesting :wink:
