Need to close the gap to the teams at the top which as they are all currently drawing today we could.  Also if Williams wants the job thing we have to win to keep him in the running

We had the better of things. They hit us on the break twice. It was a game we should not have lost but we looked shakey (no pun) all day down our right hand side.

However we are not converting possesion into quality chances. Most of our shots were poor.

Williams is needed on the pitch and a new manager is needed off it. We need to snap out of this now because we don't have a bad squad.

i've never agreed with player/managers myself, it doesnt work, williams should be on that pitch but due to last weeks fuck up he feels like he shouldnt be, any other manager would still have him on that pitch regardless of what happened last week.

off topic i think brez' broken arm has taken over my FM07 game, hes playing like shit, as if he had a broken arm.

How we didn't win today, I'll never know. We were all over them, until they scored in both halves. Peacock could have had a couple with headers and Brown ought to have scored from a yard in front of the town end. Fola shouldn't have been dropped, we've seen he can cause problems despite not being a natural finisher...hope he play in place of Shakes next week.

New keeper doesn't seem to keen to come for crosses and maybe he should have raced out to clear the ball before their first goal.

I thought it was a decent sort of game.....this is Div 4, Hereford worked hard showed more passion than our players, and  were quick on the break.

We played some neat stuff at times, but huff and puff when it comes to the business end.

I believe part of the problem is that some of our players think they're better than what they are.....it's imperitive that a new man comes in to kick some arse......Barry Hunter's Barmy Army

As usual we has a promising first 30 min, playing the wings spreading play out, then after we scored we just fell asleep, we had chance after chance, ifil's over head being the best but no one could score.

All in all a once again the better team lost when she shouldnt have.

Post by: normy on Saturday, November 4, 2006, 18:19:32
There was very little wing play to get behind the defence, mostly long balls which Peacock often headed, but failed to find our players. Roberts did not even jump for headers, as per usual, but got in to a few good positions with skill and speed, only to waste them with poor long range shots or trying to do too much.
Think we missed Fola rampaging around, and Adie's calm speaking presence in defence.

nothing was 'up' he was the same as usual

plenty of decent first-touches and effort, usually far too deep- coupled with the fact that overall he's actually a bit of a cart horse- meant he was relatively crap

Title: **Swindon v Hereford matchday thread**
Post by: PHIL!!!! on Saturday, November 4, 2006, 21:07:12
I don't think it was a terrible performance today, at all. We had our chances and if we were able to finish, we could have gone away with all three points and won by 4 or so....
I thought Peacock played well, but he seems to lack confidence infront of goal. Pook was surprisingly very good, whereas Evans was surprisingly poor IMO. But you have to let him off as he's just regaining full fitness.
Roberts played well and showed some neat touches, but like Peacock, cannot finish off chances in the final third (apart from the goal, of course)

I can't remember Hereford attacking us much at all....they were very good on the counter attack, i will give them that, but we were all over them for the majority of the match, but again we struggle to finish our chances and its cost us, once again.

Not a bad performance, but we should have won this easily.

a typical Town performance today. looked sharp went ahead then concede a stupid equaliser due to a mistake then lose our way and half time can't come quick enough for us. then we come out second half and batter them only for them to get a shit goal on the break. unlucky? yes but you have to take your chances in football and we didn't

IMO today was just king and Iffy eras revisited.  We were poor and Hereford were worse yet managed to lose because we didn't get into positions to finish chances.  Very depressing.  Thought Evans and Peacocok were particularly poor although it was Evo's first game back.  We missed Weston in the middle and Williams at the back.  On the plus side, Roberts was back to early season form.

we had so much possesion at one point when hereford gained possesion we were singing to their fans "whats it like to have the ball"

if we had a parkin like figure we would have scored 5 today, we desperately need a goalscorer, i think that is more important than a manager.

it's not that he can't make the pass, it's that there's nobody near him because he has to drop so deep to get the ball or push out wide because brown is playing in central midfield.

but thats his choice sonic that is how he plays and thats fair enough.the fact is we dont want him dropping deep and going out wide i would say i want him in the box but when he is he does fuck all.anyone else notice that when a cross comes in he jumps about 2 seconds to early.

as for jamie vincent dont get me fuckin started on him

agreed with all of this. vincent is sound defensively but he's just got no awareness of whats around him.

Nicho HAS to play left back with Big Willie back in the middle.Vincent is a ball-watcher,a liability at the back.
