We need to win this series as we are now 3rd in Test Rankings but a series victory would put us back into 2nd ..

i thought we were second. when i last looked it said we were and that was the July 4th version so not long ago really. dont give a shit about this series we are going to get whooped like usual anyway. id rather they play the A team and let the first team loose for the all important ashes

Yes i'm well upset

I don't know why, maybe its the lack of sleep, but i think we could win this series.Pakistan tend to be poor travellers and they are missing a few of the players who played so well against us when we were in Pakistan.
We've just got to get sodding Inzy out

It was fun to see a side just about as incompetent at catching as England.....Cook must have been dropped 4 times, the only one that was held Bucknor adjudged not an edge.

Wish we could find a leg spinner as good as Kaneria....although not in the Warne class is still good test class.

Its worth remembering we had Sri Lanka on the rack in the Lord's test earlier in the summer....ex Christian Yousuf and Inzamam-ul-Haq are by far their best players and have still to be got out.

Long way to go before getting excited.

agreed with that. Also Kamran Akmal and Abdul Razzaq is also good batsmen.

237-4   looks like a draw is on the cards

How many do Pakistan have to get to avoid the follow on,  is it 200 less then Englands total  eg  328   or 150 less   eg  378

200 ... the bowlers are looking poor again .. Harmy and Hoggy apart

Whats the state of the pitch,  is it still good to bat on.

Im guessing if Pakistan get somewhere in the region of 450 then it wil probably be a draw  (unless England or Pakistan have a major collapse)

lovely batting pitch and insane heat always meant that the bowlers would fight a losing battle.

today was always going to be pakistan's.

I can see us losing this. They get 100 more by lunch tomorrow, and we could very possibly get bowled out for 130 by kaneria and afridi.

258-7 at the end of the days play,we're currently 341 runs ahead, and the new ball is due soon this morning.I'm pretty sure its going to be a draw, can't see us bowling them out on this wicket, suppose there is always a chance they could get the runs though.

England NEED Simon Jones and Ashley Giles back. As well as experience, that have quality, and thats what is missing in theis England team.  Monty is good, but needs to improve to make a decent Test player!

Monty is better than Giles! who cares about his batting when he's a bowler  :-))( god soon teams will have to play 11 batters
