I'm not convinced there is much mileage left with the current lot.....SSW is getting on a bit and his son doesn't seem too interested.  The chances of a return from ground redevelopmemnt get ever more distant.....so I can see them looking for a way out, probably within the next year or so.

  Quite where that will leave us is anyones guess.

Maybe a fans takeover; like the trust.

And there is no real replacement. The Trust have better things to do and also have no knowledge of running a club.

To be honest I think Swindon fans are far too accepting of bad situations.The general attitude always seems to have been 'theres nothing we can do about it' The facts are this board and the previous ones have made some crap desicions football wise and financially.Yes SSW has kept the club going in very hard times but I feel to a certain extent he is now holding the club to ransome which of course he is perfectly entitled to do as hes spent so much money.

As it is at the moment there is no way forward unless (a).Wills gets his money back or (b) we get a stadium.Neither will happen in my opinion so were fucked and we will have to start again from the bottom,probably with Marine changing their name.

thats not their fault! the fact that they are incompetant at securing a new stadium, pricing games right and bringing in decent managers rather than cheap ones (no disrespect to Iffy) is why we are where we are! oh yeah and reduced playing budget each year too  :roll:

but its not the council's fault we dont have any money for a new stadium is it? yes they are cunts! but how are we going to pay for it? if the board had not been wankers and fallen out with St Modwen then maybe we would be getting somewhere! you can drop ticket prices and then fans will actually come and watch! and a decent manager would keep us up!

For my mind something needs to happen with the Cg proposals in the very near future.  If something gets agreed (not the original proposal) then we might see some light at the end of the tunnel, and if it gets turned down we might see the curent owner cut his losses.

At the recent Trust meeting the guy from Supporters Direct mentioned how SSW (although being our only recent investor) may actually be causing a problem because we have come to rely on him.  We don't have to worry so much because we know he'll fund the shortfall so we can let things stumble along (and by we I include the fans and the people running the club).  Odd logic it might be, but it does make sense.  By him being so supportive he might be doing some harm!

Most of you dont actually have a clue on the subject to be honest....

Does anyone really know what goes on behind the scenes, or what is actually going on with the Stadium plans?

Firstly we cannot blame the board for cutting the budgets - as turnover decreases (which some might say is inevitable) so does the wage bill.

The board have spent money on players (fees and wages) and not seen a return on that investment. Maybe they see paying money for players as a waste because they don't deliver.
