Title: The potential demise of Rotherham
Post by: lumpimynci on Friday, February 17, 2006, 09:41:46
For those of you that will get the chance to go this weekend, I'm sure that you'll encounter some bucket shaking Millers fans (they're fucking everywhere up here).

I know we've got our own financial worries but for a couple of reasons can I suggest you treat 'em sympathetically and chuck 'em some cash if you possibly can.

Why? Well the obvious, it could be us and all that, we should as fans all stick together blah blah, the fans own the club it would be a shame to see them fail, you know the kind of thing.

Perhaps just as important, or more so, we're likely to take another 3 points of them Saturday, and if they go tits up before the end of the season its 6 of our points chalked off. I don't know how the other relegation strugglers have done against them, but if we win this weekend no one can have done any better. So that's a bit of enlightened self interest to persuade you to put your hand in your pocket.

Sorry to sound like some sort of bleating pinko AGAIN, but .........well I am a sort of bleating pinko so it's kind of difficult to hide.

I think some of their Trust team might be organising some bucket rattling for tomorrow.

However if they go into administration - yet still carry on... its 10 points they will lose ..

might help us stay up!

But we're already 5 points above them, a win on Saturday would take us 8 points above them so them losing 10 points wouldn't hugely affect us I don't think.  However us losing the 6 points we got off them would definitely affect us!  :?

We need teams like Hartlepool, Blackpool, Walsall and Shitty going into admin!!

we lose 6 points but only 3 teams go down.

I'm not giving them any of my money, they can fuck off.

Fair point, except they've already said that administration isn't an option - they would go straight into liquidation. I'll be putting some cash in the bucket. For what little that's worth!

I'll definately give them a bit of money. What a horrible thing is must be to know that your club is in danger of being Killed basically  :(

We've been in the shit plenty of times, so we all know what it feels like.
Its very sad and I hope they survive.

They can have some of my cash, though charity begins at home (STFC).

But if they win I'm hunting the down to get my money back.

I think we should turn it into a competition.

Get the red army fund buckets out and see which club collects most. the winner gets to take a player of choice from the losers on loan for the rest of the season

I will donate if the buckets are still out at after the match and we've got 3 points in the bag.

can someone explain to me why I should help bail out a badly run club that I dont care about?

If the directors at Rotherham are stupid enough to think that thier club making losses of £140k a month is sustainable, than that is their problem not mine.

Did it just occur to them 2 weeks ago when the announced it publicly that they were in this situation? Did it bollocks. They've known this was coming for a while and are now desperatly trying to get the rest of football to bail them out for thier own incompetance.

Fuck them thats what I say. let them go bust.

Because  you support a badly run club and if we were a few days from no longer existing I like to think that other supporters would help us out.The state Rotherham are in is hardly the fans fault is it? Its called compassion Piemonte.
