Title: Sunday/Amateur League Football Thread
Post by: PHIL!!!! on Sunday, February 5, 2006, 17:02:27
Just thought i'd start off a little thread for people to post in their sunday/amateur league news e.g. scores and shit....Hope the mods don't mind

Anywho....I had a game for Bassett today, versus Chippenscum and we lost 3-1 to the bastards    Bearing in mind though that we only had 10 players to start with and later on in the 2nd half we went down to 9, as our stand in keeper got injured....We have about 4 players out injured and another 4 with illnesses....They are also top of the league without any losses....
Chippenscum are dirty cunts though!! They're all mouth too!! A lot of squaring up to one another happened in that match, but some of the big lads we have playin for us sorted them out  :) And i take credit for injuring one of their mouthy players  8)
We have them in the semi finals of the Wiltshire Cup on March the 5th at Rylands Way, Bassett, so get yourselves down there!! It will be a good game.

Just played our 1st 6-a-side game....we're bottom of the league with one point, taken over from the previous team...our first game against 2nd from bottom. We won 13-1 and I was the only outfield player who didnt score

Then we played 4th in the league in a friendly because the team they were supposed to be playing didnt show. We won that 4-2 and I scored a long range drive  :D

Maybe not, we're owed 3 points....Permtemps fielded an illegal player against us, he was fucking good....then next week on the pitch next to us playing for a division 2 side.

ahhhhhhh what a gay game.
as always second half had chance after chance missed, especially the black lad who came on second half ,i missed a good chance withmy right foot that wouldve been the equaliser. you had about 3 chances all game including the pen but won  :|  but we've been saying it all season. you can't just be unlucky every game, in my books the word is shit.

and fucking matt clarke scoring the winning pen  :x  i thought he had a good game considering he cant get in our saturday team  :P
not a bad finish, for a black man though eh?    shame you were on t'other side when you were on, i was looking forward to kissing your face.

Pretty spot on....you battered us 2nd half....like you did last time you played....just couldnt finish. Which has been our problem as well in most games....

Matt generally has a good game (I work with the guy I have to hear about it all the time) very good center back considering he doesnt think its his natural position....I think he makes a good centre back though....

Dunno if it was a good finish tbh Dex....keeper said he should have kept it out....

Yeah otherside....this week I was left back....I swear they randomly pick where I play....thats right back, left back, centre back, right wing, left wing, holding midfield, attacking midfield and striker I've played this season....

You're keeper was a bit dodgy....your number 6 wanted everyones shirt......and with a decent finisher you could have about 7 goals

keep it out? i bashed a half volley in off the post and he thinks he shouldve kept it out. what a paki. got absolutely clattered when i struck it, my bottom left rib has swollen up like fuck because of it
he did make some good saves though, i shouldve scored that header early on though which pissed me off a bit.
i cant remember who was number 6 but errr yeah ok i agree  :| i think we'll finish about 3rd from bottom or something dunno whether we go down or what. the sunday league is a bit of a joke in that respect.
i stand by the fact we wouldve won on the day it got frozen off, i could feel it in my bones  :-))(

and our keeper  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:  what a joker, i remember in the second half i turned round and he was about 5 yards behind me outside your area with the ball at his feet
i dont know if he speaks english but he got deported for about 3 months earlier on in the season,  which was amusing.

Chances are no one will go down anyway, like last season. We had 9 teams at the end of the season. Bottom placed Swindon City stayed in the Division and the other 8 got promoted. Division 6 is basically division 7 last season+Intermach & White Hart

Our abbey meads sunday started 3 weeks ago....3 wins out of 3...

we finished mid table last season as we took over from a team half way through who had 1 point and a -54 goal difference, we finished on 17 points (8 straight wins) and +18 goal difference.

We were pretty shit Sunday and won I think 11-2

We lost 1-0 to Mighty Wanders.....It was our first ever game playing competitively with one another, so thats our excuse
I had a shot from just over half way, on my left foot, which fizzed just over the bar :? beat the keeper a treat! Probably one of our best chances throughout the match! And i was playing at the back

So the bassett 6-a-side starts again thurs. I'm feelin confident for a league winners medal this year

Yup, it sure does.
Come on Fork Hall Skill    (The team i'm in).

I played in the 6-a-side league end of last year at Bassett (Churchill FC). I was top scorer for them (9 in 13 games)! Not bad for a defender who is overweight.
I haven't played this league at all as I fucked my ankle up in January, and it's still not right.....it's doing my head in.

i was contemplating playing tonight, but 9:30 kick off, I can't be arsed.

Ah right, were you playing on the far pitch?
We had a game at 8.30, but stayed on to get in a bit more practice. Not that we need it as we nailed Athletico 1308 3-0    And i scored  :D
Naturally a defender, but surged forward, then recieved a laid off ball, which i then struck with my left, into the back of the net  8)
We could have won 6-7 nil, if our shooting was any good....

We (Real Fubar) won 4-2 last night against West Swindon Athletic. Our first victory  :D

As you go through the gate, it is the pitch on the far right of the 3.
Played the last ten minutes, set up 3 :)

Were you the team in the white on the far left pitch practicing in the near goal? We were up the opposite end (the overweight guys in blue) practicing before our match.

There were two teams in white that were practising on the far left pitch. One was us and the others were some younger kids....
We were practising on the far left pitch after our game, about 9 ish.
What time did your game kick off?

I have to agree with phil we should have won last night, because i played well and had about 4 shots on target, but the keeper was good. And they didnt even have a shot against our keeper, and the only work our keeper had to do was to collect my dodgy pass back

Haha yeh! Now that was funny! I should have scored last night  :? took it passed three of there players, was through on goal and their keeper managed to save it....Thats why i play in defence....

Cup semi final a week Thursday in the Bassett League :)

Beat top of the table 2-1 also last week, their only defeat of the season, and I scored
We finished third, not too bad considering most of us are overweight.

Was it Infosy's LTD that you beat? If so, they play in our league too and beat us 2-0 a few weeks back....A good side, so your team mustn't be to bad to beat them.
I think we're currently 4th....

Yeah, Infosys. Chuffed with my goal, a volley into the top corner, which isn't that easy in them little fucking goals.

What team do you play for? We are Churchill

I play for PSV. We also beat Infosys but only in the cup, we lost to them in the league.

We're shit and overweight and we made the semi final in the cup too, Bassett is ace. I used to play at Dorcan on Mondays and that was different class.

Just 2 mins down the road for me also, instead of 15 mins to Bassett.
Are we (Churchill) playing you in the cup semi-final next Thursday?

I play in the Summer League, but on the same day as you.  We're called Fork Hall Skill.
We've been given the option to join the league you are in for the next season, so may be playing against you sometime (presuming your team re-enter).

I don't know who we're playing in the cup semi-final, is it this Thursday?

In the group for the cup if we drew with the team we were playing in the final game then infosys would be knocked out of the cup, needless to say the game ended 1-1.
