Title: Most Sunday like television program?
Post by: Dazzza on Sunday, January 16, 2005, 17:55:46
You know the sort, it's the sort of TV you wouldn't dream of watching normally and the sort of TV that probably wouldn't get broadcast on even the likes of  UK Gold 28 & 1/2 but it's Sunday, it's on and Sunday just wouldn't seem the same without it.

Summer Wine for me.  Grew up watching the thing and I used to detest it when my old gran used to insist on watching it every Sunday.

The writers deserve to be shot.  The same story and jokes every episode for over 30 years but I love it.  3 old men and sidekick bored on hill, stumble into mischief usually a contraption, old men ride contraption down hill and old women tut.

Sundays just wouldn't be the same.

Shit heartbeat, how the hell could I miss that one!

Now added.

That's another show where the writers deserve to be shot.  It's the same every week, a crime is commited usually by a stranger to the village, police investigate while the get rich quick sub-plot involving Vernon Scripps and his idiot man boy servant David usually converges solving the crime and going belly up in the process.

Antiques Roadshow by far, because my Nan insists on watching it whenever she's over... It makes me want to melt.

Time Team for me though its not a classic Sunday program in the true sense of these things .
They dig a massive hole and find a tiny bit of pot  which somehow tells them that 600 cavemen used to live there.
Plus scruffy blokes with big jumpers and westcountry accents cannot be beaten.  8)
