It worries me a bit, but six figure sums are nice, publicity for the club is nice, the opportunity for our rivals and the world of football to laugh manfully at the state of affairs at the club may not be so nice.

The good news is that you never know someone out there might take a little pity on our small Wiltshire club with no future and think fuck it, I'm the man to save that club.

Incidentally, if my mate in the US is to be believed, we are interesting attention from a multi millionaire stateside.  He's about to float his company in early 2006, has family connections to Swindon and wants to own STFC.  I know it's bull shit but it kinda makes me feel a bit better.

I wouldn't buy the club if we won the lottery. I'd use my new wealth to settle up Pook's contract though, and maybe introduce the Balti pie to the County G, as it's a crime we don't sell them.  That'd put another 1000 on the attendance...

I know, I don't believe it at all, but it just sits in my head and every now and then I just think to myself "but if it did happen....", then reality sets in again.

Oh well soon be Christmas, just hope Santa visits the CG this year.

I wouldn't buy into a club either, I think nowadays with a club like Swindon, you'd have to donate an amount if that's what you want, but don't expect anything back from your donation.

Depends how much I won.  I'd like to think once I'd bought an excessively large car and house, I would set up a business to earn me enough money to invest in the club, although the temptation would be to go straight in with a blank cheque.  It'd only be STFC though, investing in a club is a rubbish thing to do, there is no money in it really, it'd be for love not money! :D

Id turn that club around and break even it can be done once the debt has gone - thats the problem with our club.

i think it could only serve to promote stfc as a commercial venture. if we're going to be on tv then people will advertise and want to be seen to a)take pity on the poor little cripple team or b) just want their product name on tv. that would include...filling the advertising hordings, training facilities, and of course team bus. well u get the idea.

it would also highlight the apathy that swindoners feel towards the red and white dynamiteee-heee. therefore shaming them, plus if some little spastic council estate kid thinks he'll be on tv (that isn't crime watch) he'll bust a ball to get there and wear his hat at a jaunty angle and look thuggish.

on a similar vein of thought to the first point it could help with the potential redevelopment of CG or new site...new sponsors, investors wanting to be linked to up and coming club etc


of course this is only pie in the sky at the mo, but imagine if it did happen! we'd actually be seen as a professional outfit instead of ...well what we are at the mo. i think we can't have anything but positive thoughts about the slightest possibility it might happen

I think it will show people why we are in the position we are in, and may go some way to showing fans from other clubs that we aren't just trying to take advantage of them by charging £23

Frankly R4E, I dont give a fuck what fans from other clubs think about our pricing structure or pretty much anything to do with our club for that matter. :|

No, but some stay away because they think we are being scabby.
Maybe it will encourage them to think about why we are charging those prices, and will also show City fans why we can stay in this division (so far) without spending money and they cant!
