Title: The Cost Of Type R Ownership
Post by: Ralphy on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, 20:21:04
My car is 05 plate, bought brand new in April.

It's covered just 9700 miles and the front tyres are nearly gone!

Gonna replace with 4 Yokahama's for the winter months cos 200 horsepower through the front wheels on summer tyres is scary  :soapy tit wank:

4 x Yokahama Parada Spec 2 fitted = £440

Ouch

Need to do oil change tomorrow too, thats £40 gone!

I love it.

For all the cost i wouldn't swap it for the world though.

Leaving stuck up cunts in BMW's (Not you Ash  :soapy tit wank: ) for dead is so much fun.

I was going to say that wouldn't pass the 10p test.

Was it an old or new 10P I can't remember now?

When I did my test I was told it was a 2p

Put 10p in the tyre tread to test the depth.

Anyone know a place that will fix/ replace exhausts on the cheap?  mine (206 gti) is being held on with masking tape currently.  :|   the upside to this is it now sounds like a really really rough ferrari :D

I know a really cheap place in Carlisle - fat lot of good to you, but it does really cheap exhausts and custom fits.

I have Bridgestone RE040's on my Type R currently, good tyres in the dry but not for winter.

Yokahama's are superb, i haven't heard a bad word spoke about them.

They offer massive grip in the dry and good wet grip.

Parada Spec 2 is the best.

Yes on my old Saxo VTS. Good Grip but wear VERY quickly.

The Toyo T1-R is out now and a much better tyre.

Has a stiffer sidewall than the T1-S and wears less.
