Title: Cureton not doing a bunk Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, 01:30:18 Fair play....
Quote Striker Jamie Cureton has ruled out turning his loan spell at Colchester into a permanent move after revealing he is keen to prove himself with Swindon Town. Cureton arrived at Layer Road on a one-month loan after after failing to make an impact with the Robins, hitting his first goal in a U's shirt in Saturday's 3-2 win over Yeovil Town. However, it appears that the former Bristol Rovers man sees his long-term future back in the West Country at the County Ground. He told the Evening Gazette: "It's only a matter of time. If I keep doing well then I'm sure I'll get called back. "At the moment, though, all I'm focused on is performing well for the lads and fans here at Colchester." http://www.football.co.uk/colchester_united/cureton_rules_out_us_switch_207632.shtml Title: Cureton not doing a bunk Post by: Spud on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, 06:01:51 Good man, ive been a critic of his but i hope he makes me eat humble pie.

Title: Cureton not doing a bunk Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, 12:30:27 like he said in the adver though, he had more chances created for him in one game for ColU than he did in 6 games for us.
Title: Cureton not doing a bunk Post by: Batch on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, 13:12:02 I'm sure that if we could provide quality service to Cureo or Thorpe they would score regularily.
But we have to be realistic in this league and in our position. We need battlers and strikers who feed off scraps. Not sure either fit the bill but would love to be proven wrong. Title: Cureton not doing a bunk Post by: fatbury on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, 13:14:39 Just had a look at Curetons profile on Wikipedia.org
Says this (and remember its supposed to be unbiased) "Jamie Cureton (born 28 August 1975) is an English footballer who is currently a striker for Swindon Town in the English Football League One. Cureton, a Bristol native, began his professional career with Norwich City before moving on to Bristol Rovers. An England youth international, big things were expected of Cureton in his career, but he never quite lived up to the potential. His best spell of football came with Reading, who he joined in 2000. He played at Reading for three years before making a mid-2003 switch to Korean league side Busan I'cons (now Busan I'Park). He failed to settle in the Far East however, and after being released from his contract, he returned to England and joined QPR. After an unsettled season at QPR, he joined Swindon Town in June 2005. He couldn't score if his life depended on it." I kid you not! :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: |
