Title: hands on approach... Post by: Sade on Monday, October 31, 2005, 17:17:11 So do I ash.If he does he will be even more of a legend than he is now.
Title: hands on approach... Post by: Asher on Monday, October 31, 2005, 17:19:12 Legend is a big word
Title: hands on approach... Post by: Luci on Monday, October 31, 2005, 17:19:58 Hopefully. At least he has worked with not only the first team but the youths and reserves too so he may be able to unearth more talent closer to home. He has already with Stroud.
Apparently he has a good relationship with the players, gets spirits high and thats exactly what we need. It looks as though everyone has got behind him already so Im hoping it can already get better. All he needs to do now is makes sure when the fans chat iffy give us a wave, he does actually wave. Title: hands on approach... Post by: DV on Monday, October 31, 2005, 17:36:52 Strong, Sharp, Fit, Determind, Passionate and committed to cause. I ask no more from the players.
We showed none of these traits under Kingy Iffy Onuora's Red 'n' White Army Title: hands on approach... Post by: Spencer_White on Monday, October 31, 2005, 17:49:49 our sloppyness under King did my head in.
Every player should know whats expected of them. Title: hands on approach... Seems they do now, we're actually able to play 5 in midfield with wingers, becasue they know what the hell they're supposed to be up to, unlike the old style 5 in midfield we had with King/ Title: hands on approach... Title: hands on approach... Post by: Spencer_White on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, 07:08:10 Quote from: "Ben Wah Balls" Er yeah, 3 points in 6 games, King was sacked for that. King was sacked because he was an idiot. A better bloke could have survived that run. Title: hands on approach... Post by: unclemark on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, 07:47:04 Quote from: "Ben Wah Balls" Er yeah, 3 points in 6 games, King was sacked for that. I think that part of the reason that King was sacked was because of his failure to instill enthusiasm and letting all those players leave for free. King is a naive man, he thought it was ok to defend a one goal lead for 20 minutes away from home and that decision could have cost us promotion. He told the players to hold the ball up by the corner flag and waste corners etc. It pisses me off when the players do that. Title: hands on approach... The players left because they got better deals than we could offer elsewhere, the same will happen this year if our players actually get any other offers, Fallon might. Title: hands on approach... How many games have you watched this season, have you seen the improvement under Iffy first hand? I have, although we havent won yet the performances bar Franchise have been 10 times better and more committed than anything we did under King. Title: hands on approach... Post by: mattboyslim on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, 12:34:50 Not sure how many I've been to but Scunny, Brentford and listening to Hudders I think we are hugely better than we were against Bradford, Southend, Barnsley. It's like watching a different team, one with belief, confidence and the ability to score away.

Title: hands on approach... Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, 17:17:55 Quote from: "Ben Wah Balls" Er yeah, 3 points in 6 games, King was sacked for that. I have to say, that is a ridiculous statement. Yes, under Iffy we have 'only' managed 3 points from 6 games but you have to take it in context. As has been said, the performances are getting better and I am sure they will continue to do so. I have a much, much better feeling about things with Iffy in charge than King. He is far more intelligent, a better communicator and, I am sure the players would say, a better motivator. There is no way on earth that Stroud would have got near the First Team under King and my feeling is that Pook only got his chance because of Iffy and Woany working on him and bringing him to King's attention. I am personally very pleased that Iffy is in charge and have great faith in him and I thank God daily that King has fucked off. Title: hands on approach... The point was if the fans had liked King and he had made some more friends instead of burning bridges he might have survived. Lets hope for a glorious vital victory against City in 10 days time. :beers: Title: hands on approach... Post by: janaage on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, 17:40:40 As OST says you have to have a look at the teams we have recently played, and matched, Hudders and Brentford away, 5th placed Scunthorpe, three tough matches and our players who played so poorly only a month or two ago are now battling for their lives.
Iffy deserves some credit, if not a lot of it. Title: hands on approach... Post by: Spencer_White on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, 18:05:46 Yeah, Ben I just realised that. I dont know why Santini quoted me, his point had nothing to do with mine.
Anyway. Swindon 2 Bristol City 0. Fallon 64, Roberts, 85. :beers: Title: hands on approach... Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, 18:25:10 I hope so. All being well I should be at the city game and 3 points there would do a lot to convince me, really want to finish above them.
