Post by: oxford_fan on Thursday, October 27, 2005, 20:07:28
well, second but i don't remember that one.

i had a chicken and shish kebab and it was bloody lovely. the downside to this is that the kebab shop is about 5 doors down from me.

Make friends with the kebab people who work there and they'll throw in free cans of drink occassionally

I haven't had a Kebab in months.   :(

You cannot beat a dirty great great Kebab dripping with Chilli sauce and onion after a heavy session.

Used to run into the lads from my local in the Casino and got quite friendly with them.  We used to trawl in right before closing and they would give us the biggest box of meat ever.  It had to be a box as it wouldn't fit in a pitta, they came in a seperate bag.

that's sort of my point reg, you can only eat a 'mans' kebab when you're drunk

Reminds me of the time I attempted a chips, gravy and donner platter, sober.

Pre-session chunder.

In fact only hardcore individuals now eat any chicken....wusses think they'll get Birdy flu...especially hardcore is chicken from Turkey..which goes in kebabs.

For years I've been trying to remember to order Chicken or Shish when I get to the Kebab shop, but when I get to the counter the only words that will come out are

'Large Doner with Chilli sauce please mate'

Watched the f Word with gordon ramsey and it showed the way kebab meat is processed Giles Coren some food critic actually had one sober and said it was good.  It had real lamb in too.

Anyone had one from the frozen dept at any local supermaket?  Why anyone would want to buy one of those is beyond me.

Recently got back into chicken kebabs after a bit of a break, lovely, so much nicer than the doner.  Shish would be my second choice, actually joint first with chicken.  Doner is definitely for drunkards only.

Erm, yes I'm afraid so.

Microwaved in 90 seconds and comes with a tube of chilli sauce.

A drunkards emergency feast in a microwavable paper bag.

To be honest they’re not that bad the pitta gets a bit moist, but there’s nothing wrong with having steaming wet flaps around your meat.

I wouldn’t contemplate it sober mind.

Did you buy it sober thinking one day I'll be pissed and be desperate for one of these...

If so that's great forward planning.  I just walk passed them thinking, there's no fucking chance of one of those getting in my basket.

I prefer them in a giant naan bread than a pitta, more substance, greater risk of spillage, not a big kebab fan but a nice chicken donner from kebab land

  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

The frozen kebabs are good to have in reserve, for when you need an emergency supply.

Wedging a load of your own salad  in tends to improve them.

Not a chance!

I'm back at home at the moment waiting for my house to get finished off (6 months overdue now, fuckers) and I found it at the bottom of the chest freezer.  It gets replaced as well after I eat it!
