Ian Ross from Sheff Utd .. just came back from a loan spell at Boston where he was widely acclaimed as their best player

Played last night for Sheff Utd in Carling cup so as they could monitor his progress and Warnock sees him having a spell at Swindon till end of season to move his progress on a notch!

Good suggestion, I think a til the end of season loan is needed to give stability, Sheff Utd seem comfortable at the moment and a month loan isn't long enough the quota has been nearly taken up inside a quarter of the season.

i dont care who it is as long as they win the ball consistently in midfield!

yeah thats the one! scored against us this year. should be a good singing if it happens.

My fear is we'll run out of loans then get loads of injuries/suspensions in the run in and be buggared.

how many loans deals can one team have in a year!? cause we can't just waste them as there limited aren't they?

We have two short term loans left (up to 3 months) for the season.

However we still have a full quota of long-term loans we can use.  I believe the restriction is still a max of four per season (?) and the player has to be under 24 (?).

Iffy has until Dec 31 to decide which four, if any he wants to keep.

Anyone got the updated loan rules for 05/06, would like to take a look?

Smith if I'm right wouldn't be eligible for a long-term loan due to his age, which would mean he’d have to come here short-term for a max of three months leaving just one short term loan left.

The four that I’d like to see stay are….

Heaton
Boozer
Possibly McDermott

I’d keep Gurney but again if I’m right above then unless he signs permanently then it’s on short term loan again and a bit of a waste what with having Jenks already in the left back position.  If he did sign permanently at least it would allow us to re-use his loan allocation again.

Just seen on the BBC website that Paul Smith has re-joined Gillingham on loan until December.
