Title: Wristbands Post by: janaage on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 08:37:26 Fuck me just when I thought the wristband fad was over children in need are releasing yellow and red ones now. Despite the fact you might be mistaken as a Hulkamaniac if you wore one I still think they're shit.
What do you reckon, time for wristbands to do one, or are you loving when 25 different coloured bits of plastic round your lower arm. Title: Wristbands Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 09:19:21 Good = Selling bits of rubber bought from China for pennies for £25 to mugs on ebay
Bad = So many colours I wouldn't know a children in need from a breast cancer. Wouldn't ever wear one mind. Title: Wristbands Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 09:25:09 i prefer some decent wooden beads and my Galsto wristband.
Title: Wristbands Post by: DMR on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 10:33:42 I wear a yellow Livestrong one for personal reasons- but I've worn it for 3 years.
That's it. Title: Wristbands Post by: Sippo on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 10:37:35 I too wear a yellow one. Bought it about two years ago. having family members suffered from cancer and reading lance Armstrongs book and the charity the money goes to really brought it home.
I really hate the way peopel have gimmicked the idea, specailly on e-bay, and have taken the aspect of the bands away. Which is why people think they're shit. People have jumoed on teh band waggon and made them for personal gain instead of charity's profitting. Title: Wristbands Post by: mattboyslim on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 10:41:03 I had the single livestrong one but after a year it went pop and snapped.
Title: Wristbands Post by: walrus on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 10:47:00 I've got an orange one saying BenFest 2005. A ludicrously rich mate had a mahoosive birthday party at his mansion, and had about 1000 of these bands made up, which every duly took and are still being worn to this day. A great idea as a momento for the day but must have cost a bomb!
Title: Wristbands Post by: janaage on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 10:52:29 Have they been out for three years have they??? Bloody hell.
Title: Wristbands Post by: DMR on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 10:55:47 They've been out for ages
Title: Wristbands Post by: land_of_bo on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 11:11:30 I wear one to support the charity my girlfriend works for.
What I hate is all the pound shops that sell 3 for quid which say gay shit like "Beermonster" etc, you get all the pikeys buying these which denies charities money...... Title: Wristbands Post by: Johno on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 11:29:54 its a good idea to raise money for chairty...but not when people get profit from it...
i have never worn or bought a band though. Title: Wristbands Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 11:32:39 Quote from: "Walrus" I've got an orange one saying BenFest 2005. A great idea as a momento for the day but must have cost a bomb! Cheap as chips, I was going to get some knocked up to flog. We could get some Townend.com ones made up and mail them out to everyone. It would be like the Masons secret handshake and you could nod discernibly at others you spot. Title: Wristbands Post by: sonicyouth on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 11:55:24 I too had a livestrong one but it snapped, bought it when a family friend was being treated for testicular cancer.
I usually wear a make poverty history wristband and occasionally that standup/speakup black & white thingy. I hate seeing people with shitloads on though, it's like they want to be commended for supporting charity and following fashion. Cunts. Title: Wristbands Post by: Batch on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 12:41:07 I'm sure that if we wore an anti bullying wristband in our day then we'd be bullied for it.
If it raises more money for the charity then fine, but the hole fashion thing is nuts. Title: Wristbands Post by: janaage on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 12:49:23 One of my mates actually got threatened down in Portsmouth for wearing one of those anti-racism bands! Some people eh?
Title: Wristbands Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 13:13:30 i only have a green cancer one for personal reasons but other than that i dont wear them. i think some people are a joke wearing them for fassion (Emo kids)!
Title: Wristbands Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 13:17:00 How are things, Rich?
Title: Wristbands Post by: Boeta on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 15:06:02 I used to have Livestrong (until I accidentally snapped in the summer whilst pissed) and one of the free ones the BBC gave out (which was thrown away months ago).

I think you can get Hogan ones anyway. Hogan is great, I dressed up as him a few years back to celebrate 20 years of Hulkamania, dropped a great legdrop on my mate on a dancefloor (while Hogan's music was playing), then ripped my shirt off. Will have to locate those pictures - in case you've not seen my man boobs enough. Title: Wristbands Post by: Sade on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 21:41:19 Me and my friend have purple friends forever ones  Someone knicked my anti bullying one.
