Title: Power Cut? Post by: blinkpip on Monday, October 24, 2005, 16:31:22 I think I am going to have a power cut. My lights keep flickering and my Sky has already gone off once.
I hear we are going to have a tuff winter that lots of power cuts seem likely. Someone also told me that we may have to have a 3 or 4 day work week to save power due to the bad weather we suppose to be getting? Anyone else heard this? Title: Power Cut? Post by: janaage on Monday, October 24, 2005, 16:32:28 Every fucking year the weather people always say this winters gonna be a cold one, and it never fucking is.
Title: Power Cut? Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, October 24, 2005, 16:33:02 yes i have. the government will also swich off electric in London for a few hours one day. it wouldn't surprise me. theyv'e done it before. and the 3 day week could make a return. fun!
Title: Power Cut? Post by: Bedford Red on Monday, October 24, 2005, 19:50:16 The 3 day week sounds fun, but I guess we'd only get paid for the days we work which isn't so good. If that's not the case though then bring it on.
Anyway I doubt we'll have a bad winter, hasn't been one for years now, 1 or 2 days of light snow at the most. Title: Power Cut? Post by: Spud on Monday, October 24, 2005, 19:54:32 My Sky box keeps crackling and making noises. :x
Title: Power Cut? Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:18:44 Last winter was freezing and the year before in fact. The rain at the moment is ridiculous I got soaked yesterday even on just a 5 minute walk. Even though it's sunny today it's still fucking raining.

If that's not the case though then bring it on The 3 day week was ace, although a student at the time....when there was a power cut looming you'd make sure to go to a birds or invite them round yours, light the candles and realise there was nowt to do.....well other than shag. STFC had to play either on a Sunday, so Jimmy Allan refused to play which meant Alan Spratley...quite possibly the least competent keeper in our history played, or mid week afternoons, a crowd of 2600 v Looton showed this not to be a great idea. We had a generally shit season finishing bottom of the old old Div 2....with the lowest gates in the league at just over 7000 average. We'd manage to drop from 14000 in a couple of seasons. Title: Power Cut? Post by: fatbury on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:44:18 Blimey Reg sounds ace to me!
Birdy .. are u at risk with the Bird Flu?? Title: Power Cut? Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:54:44 I don't even have a coat but it was freezing. I hate the cold.
Title: Power Cut? Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:55:44 I can't really remember last winter. I'm sure it was chilly though.
Title: Power Cut? Post by: janaage on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 12:06:54 Last winter was so mild I used to walk to work in a t shirt, speedo's and bare feet. And I used to walk the long way round too, walking through as many puddles as I could. I found it so warm on some January days I'd often have to stop at these puddles I mention and roll around in them just to cool down a bit.
That's how mild it was you, fucking pussies! Title: Power Cut? Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 12:20:21 Yeah but you're part scottish so it would seem warm but I knew the truth it was super cold. Coldest in living memory I believe. The summer was pretty cold as well. Why has it suddenly got so cold. I blame global warming.

That wasn't that cold, it snowed I grant you but I remember countless games in the 80's coming out of the ground, and when I got back to my car my hands were so cold I could hardly turn the key. At least with standing you tended to keep warmer then in the ground. Reg will tell you it was even colder in the 60's/70's etc, winter's don't exist anymore, but people have got softer with central heating etc. Anyway, I like the cold for some strange reason, it always makes for a good evening match in my opinion, that's how football should be. Title: Power Cut? Post by: ron dodgers on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 23:34:37 62-63 - very very cold winter my pet goldfish froze in it's bowl in my bedroom
I was very sad (and cold) Title: Power Cut? Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 23:40:25 I feel your pain Ron.....you could have, of course subsequently, eaten it in a fish finger sandwich.
