Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: yeo on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 21:04:09 I like Carling
Maybe not that trendy or hard to admit but I prefer a good sesssion beer that you can drink 12 pints of than hard man Stella that quite frankly wipes me out after 5 :D Im a light weight :D Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 21:05:31 Yeah as far as party pops go I'd choose Carling cold every time!
Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: Spencer_White on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 21:10:49 Yep. Bang on Red.
I had a Stella with breakfast for the Port Vale game. Felt rough as fuck after that. Black label was horrible though. KT, your mixing up your beer adverts, criminal. But wasnt talking about Carlsberg, I was talking Carling. Dont matter. Besides, Il keep my own memories of 80's TV. I wont have them sullied by the likes of Ant and Dec and their rediculously fine prizes. Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 21:41:54 Yeah, I realised it was Carlsberg as I sat down to watch MOTD.
Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 23:41:31 Carling is rank. I tend to drink Stella, usually 5-8 pints then onto the spirits :beers:

Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Monday, October 24, 2005, 16:10:44 Carlsberg is disgusting, hate the stuff. I generally drink carling but mainly 'cos it's £1.50 a pint and stella tends to be about £2+. Have to drink it quickly though 'cos it takes so much longer than stella to get you pissed.
Can't beat vodka too. Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: Spud on Monday, October 24, 2005, 20:08:37 Carlsberg and Grolsch are the 2 no go Lagers for me but i'll drink them if it gets desperate.

I used to drink a can everytime he scored back in the day Parkins (although Sainsburys own brand) is actually brewed by Tetley's, and is surprisingly good. Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: janaage on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 08:54:13 Lowi's alright, Grolsch is nice, but I really love the ale, 2B's, 3B's, Tanglefoot, Bishops Finger, Bombardier, Spitfire all of the above please.
When I was working up the Jovial Monk once, some guy asked me what the difference between 3B and 2B's was, "I dunno" I replied "1B??". Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 08:55:27 2B's is Bitter Beer
3B's is Best Bitter Beer Or something like that. Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: mattboyslim on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 08:56:45 2B is best bitter, 3B is best bitter beer. In theory they brew 3B longer it's a bit stronger, and percieved to be better although I prefer 2B myself. Kingsdown is the premium ale, which is stronger and more expensive, althought the best is moonlight a special ale which is lovely, or bes arganic honey ale which is pleasant.
Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:11:35 Ah, i was close then.
I do like a good ale, my regular favourite being a spot of Wadsworth 6X, where sold. Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: janaage on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:12:28 6X!!! Bloody hell a few of those and I'm in trouble.
Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:13:46 My Gramp got me into it one night in the Plough at Wanbrough a couple of years back on my 19th birthday!
Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: mattboyslim on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:17:07 6X, hard to find a good pint, I do enjoy summer ales nice and fresh without lager fizzyness. Steam in old town has the best selection of ales from where I go, about 5 or 6 different ones each week, but Check Inn in Wroughton is meant to be superb, bit too far to walk IMO.
Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: janaage on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:17:41 People always find it surprising when an under 25 drinks bitter, seen as an old mans drink i suppose but it tastes so much better than lager.
Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:19:06 Ah, yes. The Check Inn is a favourite of CAMRA, and is only a 2 minute car journey of a lunchtime.
I've been in the Gluey a couple of times, which was ok... opted for the mildly amusing "Leg Before Whippet". Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: santini on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:21:47 Hand pumped Higson's bitter in the Wheatsheaf in Knotty Ash . Rich chestnut colour and a kick like a mule. :beers:

True. All male relatives in my family drink proper ale though "none of that chemicals crap", so it was only natural that i followed suit. I do drink like a refreshing lager though, and am very partial to the more extravagant ciders on offer. Title: This evening's tipple of choice Post by: Rossi on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 11:28:18 2B or 3B? that is the real question :scribe:
