Title: Arkell's stand staircase
Post by: larwood on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, 08:21:45
Near where i was sitting last night there was a staircase being defended by a steward, that most people weren't let to use.I know on a previous thread someone suggested it was a secret death camp  ,but it can't be true because people were going down and coming back.So has anyone got an idea of where the staircase goes to?Is it executive toilets, as in The Simpsons,or is it a stewarding de-briefing room or ,as seemingly ordinary looking town fans were using it,could it be used by agent provocateurs who are fiendishly trying to get us peace loving Swindon fans to turn violent

Someone must know.

If its the one down towards the town end, it goes to the players lounge. I've been down there  8)

Er no it doesn't the tunnel that goes tothe players lounge and exec area is at by the directors seats.  The tunnel at ground level near the town end goes to the winners bar, which you can go in at half time and have a pint if you want.

The players lounge, which is a shitty little room with the smallest bar,  is next door to the board's dining area, well inside the North Stand.

I think BWB's right - the people you saw go in and come back were probably the executioners/brutal guards changing shifts. Were they carrying electrodes or anything?

Thats just above where I sit.I sit above the wall near the pillar 8)
I think that entrance is for posh people only because all the people that come out have posh clothes on and look important.

I have it on good authority that clandestine excavations were being undertaken in the bowels of the Arkells as recently as a fortnight ago....I've long suspected there to be an oubliette for entombment of Argentinian players, somewhere in the CG......nothing else seems to explain why they mysteriously never play once signed.
