Post by: fatbury on Tuesday, October 18, 2005, 14:04:29
I tend to like going to music concerts but cant always find people to go with .. popular arent i!

Anyone up for going to some concerts sometime? I have a wide and varied musical taste!

But im thinking along the lines of Coldplay in Dec and Robbie next summer! 8)

Open to suggestions tho!

Very Radio 1 Mr F.

Oasis aren't worth it anymore, Coldplay are a studio band, Blur would be worthwhile seeing.  Get some proper rock on the go mate.

It's facking true KT, let's be honest.

Also I'm not one for stadium gigs, prefer a more compact venue myself.

Oasis are the best band in the world IMO though, so I am going to be biased.

I blame Radio 1, bands like Foo's are excellent, but because whenever they release a song Radio 1 plays them 100 times a day, every day, people get pissed off.  Why can't R1 play other music throughout the day not just new releases it'd be much better.

Oasis are alright just the number of twats you get at their concerts that piss me off.

Thats fair.  Oasis do unfortunately attract more than their fair share of cunts to concerts, but that is because they appeal to so many different demographics.

You're right about the Foos etc. too - if it's played to death then you begin to resent anything you may have originally liked.

I heard the new Black Eyed Peas' song earlier on Radio 1 - if I ever hear it again it will be too soon.  The lyrics were basically:

my hump, my hump (repeat about 1000 times)
my lovely lady lumps - and so on.

Fecking awful!

For the record I don't think I ever said I hated Oasis, I have most of their stuff, especially from first three albums, I just siad they're not worth watching now, compared to early mid 90's.  For which Mr KT has put me straight.

i've goten to the stage where any gig above 1,000 people in the crowd feels like crap. its so impersonal, i prefer little gigs, in tiny little venues, one of my favourite was Good Clean Fun in Le Pub, newport... its probably 100person capacity max, its in teh attic of a pub, and the weirdest lay-out i've seen at a venue, but fuck me, we were right next to the band, the crowd participation was immense...

I saw Mando Diao, probably my favourite band of the moment in a the Bar Fly in Camden, thing is most even though they're swedish they're pretty big in Japan.  So at the gig which was pretty small in number me and my mates were surrounded by Japanese, I felt like Kinky Tom in a bar, could see over everyone's head, was brilliant.

It's even worse when there are mirrors jan and you catch a glimps of just how much taller you are than everyone else.

I'm often the tallest person in a bar - no matter how busy.

I'm seeing Death From Above 1979/Queens of the Stone Age/Nine Inch Nails in Boston in a couple of weeks... That's a stadium tour so I'm not expecting a great show to be honest... I'm a fan of smaller venues.

Kayne West is also around when I'm out there so he might be worth seeing... Not into his stuff but a gigs a gig.

No, Oasis tickets historically arrive much later than any other bands do, in my experience anyway.

They probably won't be dispached until about 4 weeks prior to the event.
