Title: The manager's accent Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, 18:31:10 Definitely sounds like he has a Cheshire twang rather than a Scotch drawl.
Did he live in that neck of the woods? Title: The manager's accent Post by: Batch on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, 18:32:40 I thought he was scouse

Title: The manager's accent Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, 21:47:40 Not pretty.....I was looking for a sign of optimism, particularly on the CG front....but its probably worse than I thought.
Title: The manager's accent Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, 22:04:45 There seemed very little new at all and as Yeovil Red pointed out, it was purely re-hash or items finally coming from the horses mouth.
In the end I felt sorry for poor Sandy Gray she shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place. Listening on the old wireless the lowest point for me had to be Gray giving the excuse for not contacting the cricket club because that they are very short on staff at the club. It was reassuring to hear Devlin there it sounded like it may have been carnage otherwise. Title: The manager's accent Post by: pauld on Thursday, October 6, 2005, 14:40:00 Quote from: "Batch" I thought he was scouse It's definitely Northwest, more Manc than scouse tho. So Cheshire (albeit Warrington rather than Alderley Edge!) may well be a good call, or maybe even South/West Lancs. Title: The manager's accent Post by: mattboyslim on Thursday, October 6, 2005, 14:42:53 I thought he was Glasgow born, but raised on Merseyside? Making it scouse? bearing in mind he may have had African parentage which could have affected his accent too.
Title: The manager's accent Post by: pauld on Thursday, October 6, 2005, 14:56:12 Makes sense, but not everyone raised in Merseyside has a scouse accent. I was born and bred in Southport, and I don't have a scouse accent (and nor do most people from Southport), more a general Northwest accent (albeit toned down a lot now after the best part of 20 years living among you southern shandy drinkers).

Good. I've got receipts for all my electrical goods, although some of them are hand-written it must be said. And since last Friday I haven't got a job. But I don't have a shelly or a tache. |
