Quote A reminder, if you've already seen the PR on the website, or a notification if you haven't that TrustSTFC have called an open meeting of all Town fans to gauge opinion after the club's fans' forum and get broader guidance from our members and the wider fan-base as to how you, the fans, want us to help move things forward during what may prove to be a critical period for the future of the club. Please try to make the meeting if you can - and bring a friend, whether they're a Trust member or not. All Town fans and all ideas (no matter how outlandish) welcome. In the wake of the departure of manager Andy King, Swindon Town Supporters Trust is urging all the clubs fans to unite behind Iffy Onuora and the players and give the club the support that it so desperately needs. Trust spokesman Andy Ratcliffe said :"While the departure of King will no doubt please many fans, the fact remains that the clubs future survival is still far from certain, and the club remains in an extremely parlous financial position. The best way fans can help in the short term is to return to the County Ground and get behind their team. In the long term we believe that the involvement of the fans in the running of the club will be crucial to its survival." "In recent weeks we have been approached by a number of concerned fans asking how TrustSTFC can play a role in the survival of the club. The board of TrustSTFC do not claim to have all of the answers, we freely acknowledge that the Trust could benefit greatly from fresh ideas and impetus which can only come from our fellow fans." added Ratcliffe To this end we would urge all concerned fans to attend the forthcoming Fans Forum at the County Ground which is an ideal opportunity to get answers directly from the people currently running the club. The following week, on Monday 10th October at 7:30pm, at the GW Bar, TrustSTFC will be holding our own meeting to explore how we, as fans of the club, can play a more active role in the running, and ultimate survival of Swindon Town. All fans are invited to attend, whether currently members of the Trust or not. Trust chairman Tony Norris added :"With debts still mounting, and gates falling, the next 12 months will be critical to the long-term survival of the club. Please dont leave it to others. If you are a fan of the club, get involved now and make a difference before it is too late." The GW Bar is located on Station Road, opposite the railway station. They have a `no football colours` dress code. Please respect that. Title: Trust thing Post by: pauld on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, 11:38:16 As an added incentive (or not) I've got a job interview in Guildford on Wed lunchtime and may well end up going straight there looking a cunt in my suit. So if you want to come and take the piss, I'll be the one looking wildly uncomfortable in a rather nasty suit.
Title: Trust thing Post by: pauld on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, 14:19:52 And I've just realised that it's the Fans' Forum at the club on Wed, not the Trust meeting. Oh well, it's looking like I might have an interview on Monday as well, so it still probably applies.
