Every time we beat the Aussies they go away and learn from their mistakes, after we beat them in 86/87 following on from 85 and 81, they went away and organised the academy system which made sure that talent got through to the test side asap. It also ensured that facilities were available as well as talent scouts in every outback hick town in the land.....so no potential young player was missed. We have learnt to some extent from the Aussies, and have made some progress, but we're still miles behind......this is shown when counties employ Aussies like Law, Hussey, Harvey, Cox, Di Venuto, Elliot, Hodge and Symonds any of whom would walk into the England side but don't get too close to a test for Australia. Hopefully Brett Lee will continue to be dropped from the team. He is a ****. I've met the England cricket team in Brisbane when they beat Sri Lanka 2 years ago in a one dayer and they are nice enough but a bit square. Bless. |
