Title: Czech it out
Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, 01:53:07
Just got back from Prague and feel battered from 4 days of alcohol abuse.

Have to say it was the best New Years ever spent on the Veranda of a club overlooking the Charles Bridge champagne in one hand and the lovely Martina in the other.

Can't recommend it enough it was superb and beats the usual anti-climax of New Years hands down.

12% beer at 50p a pint (nightclub prices!) and despite the two inches of froth on the top it goes down very nicely, and far to easily.

It was fucking freezing though.  Waiting outside for about ten minutes in the run up to 12 was like being sat in a freezer, I was shivering like a crack addict by the time I went back inside the club.

24hr drinking just can't be beaten as well!   8)   Sadly I can't say I ever made it to a single closing time and that's with 04:30 being the earliest we left anywhere.

Only down side was the hotel being a bit of a trek into central Prague and the bars being a little to spaced out to stumble from one to the next.  That said the feeling of discovering one of the vast amounts of friendly little bars tucked down a side street made the beer taste all the better.

Taxi drivers are a bloody menace but that was to be expected and it does seem that in the central Wenceles Square half of Nigeria is on the hussle.

Glad I booked the rest of this week off.

Goodnight

what happened to the trusty old beer jacket? works a treat for me, and much better than the weed or mushrooms jackets.

We were gonna go to Prague or a place for new years. How on earth do you go about planning something like that? It's too hard. My friends say "YEAH SOUNDS GREAT" but then it never seems to happen.

VEGAS WILL HAPPEN. Even bob is coming. EVEN BOB!

you mean 6610i then.

If you get it from a shop it'll be quite expensive but have decent software. Or get one off ebay for cheap and it'll be a bit gay.

To be honest it didn't go to plan.

One mate had a wopping tax bill, another couldn't get the time off, another cried poverty and a couple of others left it to late so the flight prices jumped £150.00 over the weekend after they should have booked.

I just emailed everyone the flights right on payday territory the 30th of Oct and got the fookers to book there and then.

Deposit on accomodation and away you go just pay the rest on arrival.

I have definately decided I am not spening another New Years over here.

for amsterdam all i did was call up hostels, book the room and pay a small deposit. did a few flight searches and settled for bmi who were the cheapest option. demanded the money a.s.a.p. and got it.

didnt all go to plan. one guy couldnt get a passport in time (disorganised) or change his flight even if he could get one. he didnt make it over but still had to pay for his flight.
