Title: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Nemo on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 16:56:37 As I think we all thought before this season, Aaron Drinan goal machine.
Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Peter Venkman on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 16:58:31 Munroe for me, Drinan got 2 goals though which would normally win it alone but Munroe was all over the pitch.
Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: DV on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 17:02:48 Munroe had the best 99 minutes.
Palmer made a real impact when he came on & Drinan fed off of that to get a couple of goals. Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Berniman on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 17:05:26 Snowdon 1st half, Monroe overall 90 mins
Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Crozzer on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 17:15:31 Drinan for me, especially for his second. Palmer looked exceptional when he came on, but should have scored late, twice. The Bristol City loanees looked class. Opposition did a great job in the first half flooding midfield. A great win over tough opposition.
Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: RedRag on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 17:16:50 Monroe for me too.
We have a great combination of senior, experienced pros and very able, very fit youngsters. Palmer and Clarke were excellent at different ends of the match, Glatz and Snowden, with Monroe and Kilkenny were just overpowering once we eventually dominated. Drinan, quietish but still came up with 2 more goals Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: oxonrobin on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 17:20:25 Munroe had easily his best game so far.
Don’t think that was true for anyone else, he gets my vote today. Love Drinan’s work rate, even if it didn’t really happen for him until minute 70. Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Nomoreheroes on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 17:23:45 Munroe was everywhere!
Good games from: - Snowdon first half - Wilson Brown - Gladzel - Drinan - Mabete (caught out for their goal but exceptional apart from that) - Palmer cameo Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Terminator on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 17:33:12 Some of glatz touches around the box were first class
Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Crozzer on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 17:37:18 Some of glatz touches around the box were first class Yep, unlucky not to score when he flicked it past Belshaw, several players deserved MotM, a tough call. Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: 2 Tone on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 17:58:01 Snowdon 1st half, Monroe overall 90 mins Agree with this plus Ollie Clarke pushed the team forwardTitle: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Batch on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 18:00:44 l thought the shift and link up play play from glatz was worth mom.
But there were a few contenders today Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 18:05:30 Shame Munroe couldn't cap it off with his late chance, would have thoroughly deserved it.
Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 20:38:06 Munroe was great in the defensive battles and really came on in the second half going forward. I thought his link up play and some of his passing was a bit wayward in the first half though.
Glatzel had a good game, particularly stood out in the first half. Obviously Drinan got a couple of goals so might have been an easy pick on that basis. I think overall Ollie Clarke was the MotM today, grabbed a goal and an assist and was good in the defensive duels too. Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Frigby Daser on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 20:46:01 Signs of little relationships developing. Glatzel and Drinan. Glatzel and Munroe. Snowdon and Wright. Really promising, but Glatzel gets my vote, even though Drinan took his goals (in particular the 2nd) superbly well.
Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: jayohaitchenn on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 20:46:44 Drinan, closely followed by Ollie Clarke
Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Audrey on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 21:06:17 Glatzel for me
Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: SwindonCoops on Monday, September 15, 2025, 08:37:56 Munroe for me. Like others have said, he was everywhere - and Jesus, can that boy jump for a header! He was immense.
Lots of players in the running again though to make MoM decisions harder than in recent seasons. Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: Peter Venkman on Monday, September 15, 2025, 10:29:14 Munroe for me. Like others have said, he was everywhere - and Jesus, can that boy jump for a header! He was immense. For me its the way he goes box to box with pace and he is a master of the sliding tackle, something you hardly see in football these days with the namby pamby young kids games where tackling is not encouraged.Lots of players in the running again though to make MoM decisions harder than in recent seasons. He is becoming our best LWB in years, the last one who played similarly for me was Dion Donohue and I think Munroe has surpassed him already. An all round player. An all round player. My son and I were discussing this yesterday, and couldn’t remember who was a better LWB. Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: TheSwindonianManSTFC on Monday, September 15, 2025, 10:37:49 Clarke because he got a goal and an assist for Drinan’s second goal and it was a beautiful pass from deep and is not one you see in league 2 very often, perfect weight, perfect distance on it and was literally what got us from back to front and I haven’t seen much appreciation on it, which is a shame. Also he could’ve had a brace when he bundled into the box and held off the defender to try and get a shot off while off balance, many players would’ve just tumbled and the keeper collected but Clarke held firm

Not sure its anything to do with encouragement or 'namby pamby' and more to do with the way that the rules of the game are interpreted by referees these days. Yes Munroe is a master of the sliding tackle, but as sure a night follows day he is likely to mistime one this season and I fear see a red card for it. Not trying to remotely suggest he shouldn't do it, but I suspect the more conservative nature of tackling for many young players is down to the way the rules are interpreted. Must be crap as a defender to basically know that you can't touch an attacking player, so many 'world class' player reputations these days seem to be based upon running fast at defenders waiting to be brushed against and then falling over. That is the crux of it. I don’t trust these league 2 referees not to be trigger happy and discern that there was no intent to get the ball if Munroe was to slide one time too many. He is a crucial player for this team and him potentially being sent off early doors in a big game could very well decide where we end up this season Title: Re: Swindon v Harrogate MotM Thread Post by: OOH! What a pass. |
