Title: Stockport v Swindon MoM Thread
Post by: Nemo on Saturday, February 24, 2024, 16:53:34
There are a few people who have said they don't vote for keepers on principle, and I'm interested to see who they vote for!

A lot of decent solid performances out there today but Bycroft went beyond that

Minturn did well after a shaky start, and Drinan had a decent game, but Bycroft effectively got us a point with several very good saves

Must have missed something with Drainan!
FBT immense, as was Mccarthy, but it has to be Bycroft.

We haven't broken 90% in favour of a single player since Austin v Rochdale and before that Tomlinson v Exeter.

I only watched 10 minutes so can't vote. In that 10 minutes (55-65) we were well under the cosh and if that was representative of the rest of the half I can see why bycroft walked it.

We looked like conceding during that period, then Gav changed the formation dulling the threats.  Bycroft looked confident in all that he did, which seemed to give belief throughout the team that a clean sheet was going to happen.  Gav was micromanaging from the touchline, with the players following him completely, impressive to see.  The team looks more organised now.

Good to hear. I heard the first half was pretty good.

Not sold on gunning at all, but I wasn't with Wellens so maybe that's a good omen

In somewhat surprising news the one player from STFC to make the EFL team of the week is... FBT.

He wasn't bad or anything but wouldn't say he stood out!
