Title: Mixing Epoxy Resin
Post by: horlock07 on Saturday, October 22, 2016, 10:59:51
I need a very small amount of this to attach some magnets to wheel spokes, the kit I bought off eBay has had the card cut down to fit the envelope and half the instructions are missing, is the ratio of resin to hardener to mix normally 1:1 as that's what I am inclined to do?

Any suggestions?

The hardener is usually a lot less?

I would google it.

What size is the hardener packet in comparison to the epoxy packet?

Mix them in that proportion.

They are both the size of a small super glue tube, I literally only need about a finger tip size bit to attach two magnets to bike spokes. Had a look on Google and there seems to be no definitive answer! My own fault for buying cheap on eBay!

If you've got more than you need then give it a test (I use cardboard boxes for testing epoxy consistency normally). It's normally 1:1, especially the cheap stuff. If that doesn't work then try a different ratio with small amounts.

Cheers, gone with 1:1 and seems to have stuck OK so will leave overnight and see how it looks before doing the other one, plus a few other things the wife has identified need bonding.

You and her? Your teenage sons? Your adolescent daughter?

How is the reindeer doing? Nearly ready for Christmas dinner?

Reindeer is doing a treat, antlers now fully reattached and sat on the mantelpiece with its mate!
