Title: Wrexham away -police dog killed?
Post by: kirky69 on Monday, June 6, 2016, 21:47:12
Am I suffering from memory loss or was there a game at Wrexham, probably played in the 70's when a police dog got killed during violence in a match against us - might have been a cup tie? Anyone remember this?

can't remember that but a Town fan was struck a glancing blow by an iron (ex used for ironing clothes) So he went straight over and decked the kid who threw it and was summarily arrested. 70s was the golden years.

I think it is an urban myth, heard of it supposedly happening at a Stoke City v Port Vale friendly.

It wasn't a dog. A policeman was seriously injured after the game.

The good old fashioned football special, rammed with pissed up Town fans.
