Well - since nobody has started it, I'll do it!

Am I the only one who hasn't gone up to the Wirral??

Be interesting to see if King thinks Gurney can manage 90 minutes or not. He looked fucked after the game on Saturday.

Nugent is class.  He'll be playing in the Premiership before long.  The boy Jones is a bit handy as well.  Three superb finishes from PNE.  I think Sam's touched the ball about once!

Bit of a shame - the service coming to him from his wingers is shocking. I don't think Ipswich have got behind PNE's full backs once in the entire match. They've just been firing off shots from 30 yards all game.

Yeah I agree with OST, so what if he's on loan, it's not like he hasn't been a captain before, Whalley and Migs aren't ideal for captain in my opinion.

Anyway, sounds decent so far.

To be honest, Gurney is a bit different to a loan player in that he was here before and has played the most games for Swindon out of anyone else on the pitch.  He's willing to talk, and probably is the only logical choice as captain.  Who else would people nominate as captain?

Is there anyway I can listen over here in Crawley without signing up to that fucking ripoff which is STFC World?

Wwwwaaaaank, corner, saved by Heaton low down.  Good, solid save.  Had been deflected by Collins.

Scrappy so far ... Collins has made one mistake at centre back which Heaton saved him from with quick thinking. Fallon has been doing okay. Scrappy, but nothing threatening yet.

It's great if they charge you properly and you can actually listen to the live commentary.  For the two years I had it, I was charged twice one year and the live feed often was broken and not really useable a lot of the time.  When I did wish to contact them to report a problem/claim a refund, it seems as though there is no one to contact!

"Swindon not quite hanging on grimly, but are certainly indebted to their goalkeeper" Ed Hadwin.  Sounds promising...   :|

I can't beleive our midfield is non-existent. TBH I'm not a big fan of 4-5-1. I think the best forms of defense are attack. We seem to be under the cosh at the minute.

I'm not a fan of watching the 4-5-1 but when implemented correctly it works well.  The wingers, if fit enough, can make diagonal runs to give you almost a 4-3-3 when attacking, but still giving you plenty of cover when defending.  However, I do not think we implement the 4-5-1 correctly - we must stop playing about with formations.

I know Hadwin's bemoaning the fact not enough men are getting in the box, but if the defence had even less cover I imagine we'd have conceded by now...

I don't think we'll use 4-5-1 much this year but away to Tranmere is one time we should probably be quite defensive.

Working so far anyway 0-0 at half time.

That's a fair point.  I just hope we don't switch to the 3-5-2/4-3-3 to start a game (obviously going 4-3-3 later on in a match when drawing/losing is different) later in the season.

:D   They're playing I See Girls at half time.  Sonic's probably tearing his hair out...

What a fucking load of crap.  We weren't outclassed today, the tactics and the players just didn't seem up to it.  It didn't sound like we had one true attacking move, and I was not impressed to hear Ifil fannying about with a throw-in with 30 seconds to go.  This side accepts defeat far too easily for my liking.

Doesnt sound like we played badly, infact in places it sounded as if we were on top even if it was short-lived. Tranmere are expected to be top 6 come the end of the season and we have only lost 1-0, to a goal which may have been offside. Probably should have changed to the 4-3-3 when the goal went in, rather than leave it 10 minutes.

Considering the opposition we shouldnt be too disappointed.

Had predicted a 2-0 for Tranmere so should get my second point of the season in the prediction league.

Yeah I agree, away to a very good side we did compete so I'm not too disappointed. 3 points from the bank holiday weekend is decent enough and  hopefully we can push on from that next week.

If we go away from home with the aim of getting a draw, we will lose.  Simple.  You have to believe that you can win every game. King clearly did not believe we could beat Tranmere and this transferred to the players.

What a load of bollocks.

Now to me, starting with a 4-5-1 away from home says that were here for a draw but obviously it was more to do with Premiership sides playing it alot this season....

I won't have a bad word said against Tranmere fans after their post match reaction in 1993 at the play off semi.  Fantastic, never known anything like it before or since.

Tranmere fans are the scruffiest spottiest bunch of schoolkid scruts Ive ever seen in my life.

Four of them left it about half a mile before having a go at us. I rescued my manky curry and chips to throw at them out of the Transit. But alas they seem well schooled in the art of being a scally (and hid).

Fair play they were nice in 93. But you'd never get an inch of sportsmanship nowadays. Probably the worst loosers in the CG car park last season as well. Snigger.
