Title: Travel Suggestions Post by: DarloSTFC84 on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 10:53:31 Ok, as some of you are aware, I get married in April.
We don't go on our actual honeymoon until September, but I'm thinking of taking the Mrs away for a couple of nights straight after the wedding... Anyone got any ideas? Budget isn't huge, I'm looking for something just as a getaway. I could be a City Break or Countryside retreat - anyone have any ideas? Title: Re: Travel Suggestions Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 12:19:42 Beautiful Bury or ravishing Rochdale then? Dale away 30th April. I reckon you could have a decent weekend staying somewhere on the West Pennine Moors. http://www.visitlancashire.com/explore/west-pennine-moors Title: Re: Travel Suggestions Post by: 4D on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 12:20:01 Glossop to Rochdale is only 22 miles, I am sure it's only a slight detour to the arndale centre en route.

Title: Re: Travel Suggestions Post by: Not that Nice If I'm Honest on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 19:28:20 Valencia is very nice - and around 20oC I reckon in April
Went there on Ryanair for about £50 each a few years ago, Holiday Inn is good, it's on the old dry river bed that's now a park. Title: Re: Travel Suggestions Post by: Not that Nice If I'm Honest on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 19:31:31 Just checked the website - prices still under £50 - it's a no-brainer !
Title: Re: Travel Suggestions Post by: Not that Nice If I'm Honest on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 19:38:23 I don't work for the Valencia tourist board by the way, but you can get this for 3 nights for £189

1.5hrs with BA from Heathrow for £100. Great food, buildings, museums, plus a football ground in the town centre. And it's really good value. Title: Re: Travel Suggestions Post by: DarloSTFC84 on Thursday, January 28, 2016, 07:32:08 What's the budget for hotel? I'd say about £150 - we really want to stay in the country because there's so much to see here that we take for granted I think. Title: Re: Travel Suggestions Post by: DiV on Thursday, January 28, 2016, 08:57:06 Login Cabin in the New Forest?
Title: Re: Travel Suggestions Post by: DarloSTFC84 on Thursday, January 28, 2016, 08:59:08 Login Cabin in the New Forest? The ONLY downside to that, is we're only about 9 miles from the New Forest, so we're there relatively often.. I'm thinking more up north. Maybe countryside or a city break.. not sure which yet.. Title: Re: Travel Suggestions Post by: 4D on Thursday, January 28, 2016, 09:20:16 Have a look at this place on bookings.com
