Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:30:46 Is it only me that doesn't think Ifil is a great player?
He can be on his day a fantastic defender but oh my god, his distribution is simply abysmal. 2 games now i've seen him pass to nobody!!! What is he thinking? Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: sonicyouth on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:31:42 I think he's awful, you can't expect to put a consistent run of results together when Jerel makes a mistake every single game.
His distribution makes me cry as well. Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Melksham Red on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:33:09 He's shit. Very shit. I thought he played better yesturday though.
Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Sippo on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:35:42 Comyn-platt deserves a chance. Was vewry very disappointed and angry he didn't feature yesterday specially after a good game in the week...
Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:36:56 Will King ever drop Ifil though??
With Sean O now injured i doubt it :-))( Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Sippo on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:38:51 Prob not. Hes all talk at the minute blaming him for every mistake (which isn't good for Ifils confidence and shouldn't be done publicly by the manager). He should be dropped and then hopefully come back a better player.
Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:40:39 Seriously though, how can anyone have vision and distribution like him??
My gran passes the ball better. Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: unclemark on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:41:01 I think Comyn-Platt should be played alongside O'Hanlon.
Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:43:23 Quote from: "nozza" I think Comyn-Platt should be played alongside O'Hanlon. I think Collins should partner O'Hanlon with Gurney and Smith as full backs. I'd put Comyn-Platt on the bench. Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: DiV on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:48:38 Ifil isnt playing at his best at the moment, we know he can do better, we've seen him do much better, much much better
He seems to play better in a central 3 than a 2. Also, a player lacking confidence seen as his manager is quick to single him out... Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Tails on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:52:58 He is a good player he just makes mistakes. I think we'd miss him at the back if he wasn't there, especially if the opposing team had 2 quick forwards.
Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 14:05:27 I like Ifil, he can be a very good player but his mistakes are frustrating, I'd still have in the team though.
Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: Spud on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 14:33:55 Stick Comyn-Platt in the centre.

that's his seasons best already? down hill from here lads Title: Jerel Ifil Post by: walrus on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 17:39:37 Nah you're wrong. Jerel's just going through a bad patch, but he's still one of the club's best defenders. With the truly magnificient signing of the Andrew Gurney there'll be a bit more competition at the back, but I'd be sceptical about bringing in Colym-Platt so quickly into a side which only just seems to be settling down. I think if Ifil is given a run in the side and allowed to build up some confidence he can be a class act. Just because he looks shakey at his tender young age does not mean we should give up on him.
