Is STFC merchandise ok?

I'd Google Samaritans Purse, they're not quite the unmitigated good cause they seem to be thought of as. They're evangelical as they come and I know of a fair few moderate Christians who think they're a bit scary.

The idea is solid enough though, and there are other charities that do similar things without the evangelical overtones (http://linktohope.co.uk/shoebox-appeal http://www.aquabox.org/). Of course, giving actual money is probably more effective, but I realise that's not necessarily a straight swap.

I'm the least religious person you know, I was thinking of the kids. No not in a Jim'll fix it style.

I've just buzzed an email to my boss to see if he can include it in his Friday email getting everyone to make effort next week.

We do it at Brownies - I've heard things before about the charity that does it not being great but on the other hand I think it's important to teach children in this country who have so much to help those with so little?
