Title: Blades fan
Post by: Sufc on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, 07:57:00
Hi, United fan here, on reflection of last night just wanted to say congrats on getting to Wembley. The better team won and we were quite frankly lucky to only lose by 1 goal on aggregate. Many of our fans want clough sacked as he has proved he has no clue what he is doing by not playing any centre backs for most of the season (which showed last night!). Anyway, good luck at Wembley, hope you have a better record than us there!

Thanks for that. We've been in a similar position to you a couple of times, and I can still remember how much it hurts. Although over the 2 legs maybe your team lacked a little bit of that quality, you can't argue with the strength of character they showed last night. Could have given up a number of times but kept going for it.

Our record at the new Wembley is played two lost two, but hopefully third time lucky. Good luck for next season.

Hi Blades fan, great fighting spirit by your team contributed to an unforgettable 2nd leg.  Great stuff by both teams, obviously could have gone either way.

Good luck next season.  Not sure we've ever put 10 goals past the same team at the County Ground in a single season before; and there can't be many that have scored 7 themselves.  We'll remember the Blades for that alone this year.

Good luck for next season, and thanks for the comments.

I think most on here would like to apologise for the prats, who went towards your fans, to try and cause trouble on the final whistle, and spoil an unforgetable night.

It was very fine margins over the two legs. Bad luck and decisions from your players cost you. You can't blame the manager for that. Stick with clough and you'll be right up there next season I'm sure.

I can only imagine how galling it must be to lose in the playoffs again, but you lot gave us a proper run for it so must be commended for that.

Apologies for the fuckwits.

Yes, this!  That also goes for those who 'infested' The Merlin before the game, too.  Stay away.  We don't want or need you.

Too much watching Cass & Green Street before football.

It doesn't make you intimidating or look hard, it makes you look like a cunt.

The end.

Merlin was a bit noisy with Swindon chants before the game when I was in there but minus a few pensioners not particularly threatening I thought.

My Dad did point out the old ringleader of trouble though. Forget what he called him now but apparently the Town End used to chant for him and he later became a copper. Figures.

There does still seem to be that core element of old blokes who want it to go back to those days. They pull all the stupid kids along with them.

I also thought bringing Smoke bombs on the anniversary of the Bradford fire was in poor taste.

Shame none of the guilty party have the mental capacity to think of these things..

We left the merlin as just far to busy, there for a beer not to queue for ever.
Encountered a few Sheffield fuckwits on the way the the CGH.
Every team has them  ::)

thanks blades fan. not sure I have any adequate words of consolation.

I agree about your lack of centre backs though. I think jay mccleverly is quality, but he's never going to win the physical battle with smith. thought that was fairly key myself.

good luck next season. hope you understand I really don't want to be playing you.

Thanks, it was a very entertaining tie and you certainly gave it a good go.

Might teach Clough and your squad to stop with the mind games!

on reflection this morning I think you should be immensely proud of your team...they way they kept going and going was astounding really (helped by inept defending, mind)
I can guarentee you every single town fan was shitting him / herself in the last 10 mins, since everytime you got the ball and came forward you looked like scoring...
your right back had a blinder last 10.
your time will come....

I'll be surprised if an away team ever scores 5 goals again and doesn't make it to Wembley.

Fundamentally it was the last minute goal at Brammall Lane that cost you.

Was it the group including the blond kid with the Alice-band singing 'fuck off Swindon Town, you are staying down...'?

Ugh, he was the worst.

Apparently he's on his holidays.

Wonder if he's getting worried for his 'No,no,no' quote. Those 82ers T-shirts might have to be binned if we do go up.

He was a gobby little cunt, gave me the "wanker" sign before kick off so I just smiled.

15 mins and 3 goals later I just had to wave at him

Fair play to the Blades fan coming on here.
Won't be long before they return to the Championship with their crowd size and budget.

Always enjoy trips to both Sheffield Grounds, real football clubs with great support and tradition.

They made a real go of it Monday. I know what it felt like after Brighton.

If we went up, hope the Blades go up next season and avoid long cup runs.
Next game 6-6.

Chin up Blade.

I've only ever left 2 games before the end - home to Derby  when we got stuffed 4-2 by Derby during the Hoddle era (and missed 3 goals - 2 for Town!) and at Wembley against Chesterfield when I left after the 2nd Chesterfield goal.

I wonder how many Town fans left when we went 4-1 down at Birmingham. Happily, I didn't....

Cooper said his dad was in the stand and had never seen anything like it.

He was a manger of Brum that day, so I beg to differ!!
