I don't mind a bit of the old pyro at football, but massive mistakes to be made are 1. Try not to do it in a wooden stand (us twice at Orient) and 2. Try not to cover your own goal in smoke, limiting your own keepers vision (City at our place)

I couldn't imagine an English club pulling off a display akin to some of the South American and Eastern European clubs, mind.

In some cases, I wonder why they don't just ignite the stadium and be done with it.

I have bought 420 Red & White streamers from two vendors due to PartyOnUp not having enough. I'll be bringing out the 12th Man shirt and a giant 6m "Salubritas et Industria" banner.

I am going to be giving the 5ft flags on poles to someone in the DRS to hand out. Oh and I'm trying to find someone to roll out the Jan Aage Fjortoft surfing banner like I did at Yeovil.

OTHER

I have the understanding that the club have bought little hand wavers for every seat. I bought 1,200 red & white balloons and two other fans have bought balloons.

So other than that... not much is going on ;)

Great stuff Jay, didn't go Thursday but looked impressive on the tv, videos and photos.

Was ace in the ossie era when people used to tear up paper and bring it in by the bag load. shrivvy road stand all used to lob it up in the air when the team ran out and it looked superb.

Someone can feel free to bring some along... ;)

Jay fair play you have single handedly improved how the club's fanbase appears to others and made the atmosphere better to boot. Been ages since i've seen this many people excited about bits of paper and banners and the like.

Without all the donations from fans on here and Twitter it wouldn't be even nearly possible.

Had a good meeting with the club about it today. Hopefully we have some great things coming in the future.

Just remembered, the commentators on the live game mentioned a bog roll being thrown on the pitch and they were laughing saying you dont see that much now, proper old school was the comment :)

Glad to hear it. There was one instance where their keeper was taking a kick and someone lobbed it at him as he took it.

What banner for Wembley?

We'll have to pay out the nose for one at Wembley due to their strict fire regulations.

I have got a plan in place for a display behind the goal though. Been working on it for a few weeks... the guy helping me sort it said we needed to start work on it a few weeks ago because the 2 weeks now isn't enough time to do it all.

Luckily it's not work gone to waste!

There was a huge STFC flag / banner around for the 92/93 play off final which then after the final used to hang on the wall in the old jd sports at greenbridge...but that was a long time ago. Both shop and flag have gone awol now...but flag must be somewhere..

New wembley is rather H&S mad.

ah yes, I remember now. They have an 8 x 5 rule or something dont they. They have a measuring template on the wall which they use to check. Mine just scraped through last time around

Jay, in the way ticker tape was our thing in 89/90, so streamers can be our thing.  Well done.  if everyone just purchased one each we'd have 30,000 of the things littering up Wembley!

Jimmy - I honestly have no idea where any of the flags went, TalkTalk was the sensible one amongst us and stored most things.
The big flags are all long gone, having been stored at the back of the Town End in one case and the shop one wasn't around in 2005 when we tried to get hold of them, although Wembley only allow purpose made ones I think - didn't they have one for each team last time?

I'm not sure if Wembley will let you in with them and searches will find them pretty easy. I'd hate for people to bring them and have them confiscated. I'll aks the question :)

I have got something else planned for Wembley, but I think streamers do give that extra buzz.

It's £5k for a group of non-fans to organise it on the day so the club, a group of fans or myself don't have to worry about it on the day. Plus they organise printing, transport and liaising with Wembley as he's known to them.

What's the deadline for getting the funds, Jay?

I can well believe the cost if other people are doing it for us - it took 2 hours to set-up a St Georges Cross in the Don Rogers stand for the Brentford game years ago and around 2000 pieces of paper purchased cost several hundred quid.

I'd doubt they stop streamers going in if they cam in a few at a time - in 93 I got in with loads of scissors in my bag that I forget I'd left in there, hidden under bags of ticker tape.

The TE did look proper old school, from the DRS, especially in the last 20 minutes. All those faces crammed in, huddled over the barriers, paper streamers and banners everywhere. It was just a few rattles away from something you'd see in those great photos from the 60's (except for the shit track suits).

DAMN! I even have a rattle lying around somewhere! T'was a joke Christmas present...

Same as, probably only £5-10 but I guess every little helps
