Title: Pylon Floodlights Post by: 4D on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 00:48:08 Obviously we've got em, but which other clubs still have them?
I like the fact that we still have our floodlights, it's traditional. I like the fact that you can see them from miles away, like a beacon. You can pass some grounds by, assuming the stadium is a warehouse or business on a trading estate. You don't have to travel too far up the motorway to experience that :) If our ground is ever developed I would hope we could incorporate pylon floodlights and keep some traditional features. The ground is also right next to the train tracks.

There's not a level stand around the entire perimeter so pylons are the only solution. If you look at the redeveloped ones at Edgbaston, they look great (in an 'e' shape).

Aldershot Accrington (sort of) Title: Re: Pylon Floodlights Post by: Sippo on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 08:15:55 Lillestrøm have floodlights that fold down to lie parallel to the tops of the stands which are pretty funky. Title: Pylons Post by: Outletred on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 08:44:41 Most new grounds now have them built into the stands I think

What's the capacity Title: Re: Pylons Post by: Red Frog on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 09:29:33 And another thing about pylons is… nah, never mind.

Title: Re: Sv: Re: Pylon Floodlights Post by: sonicyouth on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 09:35:40 That looks a cracking smaller scale stadium. just over 12,000. I've been to a few games there and the atmosphere has always been brilliant, especially for their local derby. What's the capacity I think they're looking at moving to a new stadium sadly Title: Re: Pylon Floodlights Post by: kerry red on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 09:39:04 See the capacity is 12,250 but record attendance is 13,652. Were they playing Bristol City for that one?
Title: Re: Pylon Floodlights Post by: Peter Venkman on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 09:48:06 Pretty sure Vale Park and Prenton Park still use pylons too.
