And a little pop at De Canio on the way through the article.

It's a bit of a puff piece obviously but Power does come across well.

What is it people don't like about Power? He isn't buying, or at least offering to buy pints for all? He isn't paying out on massive player contracts? He is a control freak who will only appoint puppets who do his bidding? Or just the fact that he comes across as a dodgy spiv who has no obvious reason to be involved with Town apart from the unlikely prospect of making a quick buck out of us?

But for him to make a quick buck out of us he would have to get us to the championship, if he does that then fair play if he makes money from us.

Perhaps the latter considering his links with Peckham!!  Personally, if he get's us into the championship in the next couple of years he could have come from outer space as far as I could care.  Incidentally, makes you wonder just why Andrew Black sold us when the championship was within our grasp and he could have got a return on his investments.

There were people on nearly £14,000 a week, which was ridiculous – obviously, that was the manager

People. I.E.: more than one.

Don't think anyone said they didn't like him did they? (On this thread). Or were you aiming that more generally?

Phil Spencer.
No, Di Canio and his enormous self-regard. It's so massive it commanded a salary in it's own right

He took a wage for every one of his schizophrenic personalities, he was actually only on £3,500 a week normal wage.

You can't blame Spencer or Di Canio. It would be Andrew Black that offered them that wage.

I think we found out that Black had very little control over finances thanks to rogue 'friends'.

All "deals" were sorted out by Wray and not Black.

I don't know how true it was, but I did hear that PDC employed his coaching staff, and not the club. If this was the case then it could go some way to explaining the possible £14,000 per week salary.

Christ he's only 3 years older than me - he looks much older - must be what working with Jed does to you.

Will this possibly put the Cre8 story to bed?

I meant more generally. Don't get the feeling there is much love for him. Certainly compared to some of the nonsensical guff spouted in Jed's direction when he left.

Oh OK. Wasn't most of the hostility (such as it is was) down to a few individuals on Twitter in a failed "Get Jed Back" campaign largely kicked off by Jed anyway? Although I agree Power doesn't seem to be widely warmly regarded, either.

Yes I wonder just how many signatures that particular petition got.

And without mentioning names... Morshead. Is he still in the naughty corner?  Might explain why he's scratching around here, trying to get really interesting stories out of TEFers.

I quite liked the piece a couple of weeks back outlining why the current project should be regarded as successful thus far....but the following week it was followed up by the Cooper out piece...struck me as somewhat contradictory.

Cooper out piece?

Not directly Cooper out, rather this piece, which is less than complimentary about style of play etc.

Ah, that. Designed to reflect a sense of disillusionment about the club - personally and from a wider perspective - not a direct criticism of the model, which I am a support of. Obviously not written well enough if it didn't come across that way.

No criticism of the writing, it's, just that it seemed a bit at odds with this one...

I can understand why you'd think so. I really was trying to get at different points. I approve of current model at the club I just feel that the club hasn't been able to promote enthusiasm and excitement in the fanbase for several months, for whatever reason.

The reason is not winning enough games....think it's 5 in 20.  It's hard to convince the average Town fan that things are heading in the right direction when results suggest otherwise.

Having to pay for your ticket all of a sudden can have that effect :)

It's been like this since the budget cuts were announced. Then fans warmed to Cooper because we were winning. Since our poor run that's changed again.

TBF they would moan about something else if we won every match. :(
