Title: Di Canio
Post by: topcat on Sunday, September 15, 2013, 12:35:11
Nice to see Di Canio losing the plot again just because his players aren't good enough. Maybe the disallowed goal should have stood but I don't think his man management skills are going to be as successful as he thought they would be, Whatever next telling his players not to drink tea & coffee. He wont be there very long

I find it amusing that Sunderland are going through the Swindon Town 2011-2013 experience.

Oh the memories.

I'm sure results at Sunderland will pick up in time if he's given it.

I had to laugh at his post match interview and comments about asking to be sent off, total fucking loon.

That's 12 points at best going into new year. Of course some of you will disagree but that's what an open forum is all about. My point in a way is after the inevitable hessian bag where to next?

That ref who who didn't play advantage, and then didn't send Sagna off should be suspended for that, I'm not surprised Di Canio was a bit pissed off. Terrible bit of refereeing.

Fair point you make, though it's one incedent in one game. there are 38 games in a season usually these unfair rubs of the green even themselves out don't they?

Not a chance.

There is no coincidence that Arsenal didn't have a man sent off for clearly denying a goal scoring opportunity, and Palace did (against Man Utd) when there was a covering defender much closer.

It has always been the same (and is unlikely to change) that the very big clubs get a much better "Rub of the Green" than everyone else.

That's the assumption - relying on refs to cock up again but this time to your benefit isn't a great advert for their abilities though. I do think they should be held accountable for decisions after the game.

Martin Atkinson is a terrible ref.

The palace one wasn't even a foul

I can honestly say that I never walked away from watching a match absolutely SEETHING at a referee. I can acknowledge when they've made the a wrong decision but it doesn't ruin it for me. I kind of like how they wind people up so easily (watching the fans arms jerking around in unison like a death rattle of an old windmill)

They're a bit like goal-line technology debate. Of course, they should be better but and there are ways The F.A. can assist to make them better... But where's the fun in that?

:)

Not even our mate Kelvin Morton at Filbert Street?

I did have a laugh yesterday morning that Paolo was in the papers complaining the foreign players he bought mostly doesn't speak english, which doesn't help defensively.

Hasn't he learnt anything from his time here?

It's like watching an American remake of a foreign language film and spotting the scenes from the original script.

The difference managing at that level is he wont be able to bully players like he did at swindon to get results

Agreed

But you should get up and join in with the arm jerking.  You don't have to be truly angry to do so.

I always think it might pressurise the ref into "evening it out" with an STFC benefit of the doubt decision next time - certainly at home.
