Fair enough we were pretty fucking bad for the first 75 minutes, but the first mumours of king out started when liddells free kick hit the back of the net!

FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!  Sack the manager after 2 games because the oposition score a cracking 25 yard free kick? give me strength!

YES - were were bad, but look how they scored their goals

1-0  - poor marking from a set piece - New boy Collins not doing his job properly
2-0 - Cracking 25 yard free kick
3-0 - debatable penalty

Its not like they were carving us open at will, in fact off the top of my head I cant think of any other clear chances they created all game.

I'm not making excuses for a lacklustre performance, I know we were poor but some people dont seem to have any perspective at all. If we still havnt won in 8 games time then fine - call for kings head, I'll probablly join in.

And as for the people chanting Calderwoods name, you are either very very stupid, badly informed or both

To sum it up I'm ashamed and embarrased to say I sit (stand) in the TE with such a large percentage of fickle, badly informed idiots.

town end fans are so fickle in general, there are some who can chat about these things with the people by them, but some must chant it, when it makes no sense??

SSP chants - as you've all said there's no point in that whatsoever.

I started an 'Andy Kings barmy army chant' after all the idiots were calling for his head and a few people had a go at me from a distance, when I pointed out the lack of funds etc. and challenged them to be able to do a better job against one of the biggest spenders in the league they told me that they are quite welcome to have their opinion, 2 minutes after having a go at me for mine.

BWB would have been proud of me taking on the Town End, though I think I may have scared Johno at one point.

3 - your not fit to wear the shirt chants were aimed at a side at home and didn't have a shot on goal in 75 minutes, which is in my opinion a fu*king shambles

4 - the chants of 'the townends standing up' made me laugh........only 30 odd people were stood up through the whole game

5 - despite us being absolute shite for well over an hour i find a strange urge to go back on saturday

ok. 2 games in, i wasnt expecting us to be top of the table. 2 fairly tough opening games, and another this saturday, it was never going to be easy. some town fans need to back the fuck up off the players, its not their fault they've had jack shit in the way of decent oponents to play against and form as a unit. those last 10/15mins, fucking fantastic. thats how we should be playing. and thats hopefully how we will be playing in the very near future, alot more passing, alot less long balls to a pair of midgets.

And we all know when Fallon plays the long ball crap will continue. :?

I didnt agree with the all too quick jumpin onto Kings back ... he really is on a hiding to nothing .. but he doesnt help himself at times with bad media comments and playing players out of position when he hasnt tried them there previously.

Hopefully he can redeem himself Saturday by playing with the same formation that he ended tonites game with at the beginning.

Basically we've got a new team here, the midfield and attack are gonna take a while to gel, and to be fair I didn't think that was the main area of concern yesterday.

SSP chants, not matter what they were on about, were uncalled for, if I was Curo and Thorpe and I heard that I'd be a little pissed off.

Didnt they occur just as he scored for Ipswich?? there was irony there .. I think Thorpe and Curo needed a kick up the backside so maybe it actually helped?

We were three nil (or two nil - can't remember) down and they started singing that, a song that's not really going to inspire our new players, so I think it was inappropriate.

Like the players would have known that he'd just scored for Ipswich.

It's time the supporters started supporting our team, especially when the team need a bit of help.

That had nothing to do with Reeves, Oldham had dropped right off and were allowing our defenders time on the ball when he came on. If he'd have started then he'd have been hoofing like the rest of them because of the pressure Oldham were putting on them.

Oldham defo relaxed, Reeves did do well when he came on but like PM says if he'd started it could have been a lot worse, his (lack of) pace is amazing, I know he's getting on a bit but my nan could run faster than Reeves.

Most of our hoofing comes from our defense being left so exposed by the midfield that they just want to hack it away to get some repite!

When me and my mate were walking to the game last night we agreed that the atmosphere was going to be shit, first Home game after a defeat and being midweek and all. :|

when we got that second, it was like the town end of old, shame it was only 5 minutes! it was brilliant. now i just wonder why people don't chant till we are playing well, we do need the chanting more when we are losing.

The spirit of the Newcastle fans a few years ago when they were 5-0 and were singing "We're gonna win 6-5" has got to be admired, but it's hard to lift yourself let alone your team when they're playing so poorly.  I'm going pissed into the Town End with 2 other mates on Saturday with any joy so I'll be screaming me lungs out for them!  (Will try not to call Fallon a donkey this time so that he hears me....  I was only joking Rory!!   :oops: )

In fairness that's irrelevant - the calls to sit down are for safety reasons.  Still think it's bloody political correctness and safety standard's gone mad.  In Corfu I went go-karting without helmet/suit/barriers 2 tyres high which were flexible/bumping was encouraged!!  All it needs is regular chants of "Stand up, if you love Swindon" and the stewards are easily defeated.  As long as fans are united in standing there won't be a problem, until the council gets wind and tries to close it down.

also, people complainin about the atmosphere already, if the town end does sit down, everyones loses the point in chanting, i don't mind chanting if we have to sit down, but others seem to lose interest when they sit down.

You're right, its not. Those of you who are too young to have stood in packed terracing really have missed out. Its easier to sing standing up, if you want to move to where the noise is coming from and join in its easy, so you get all the vocal fans stood together this then makes more noise and encourages everyone else to join in.

i know its better to stand up and chant, and helps etc...i prefer it. but what im saying is that just because some people sit down and the stewards tell you to, you can still chant.

Back to the point about King at the touchline instead of the stand - i totally agree BUT makes me laugh all the fans moan about him in the stands and last night the only reason i noticed he was on his way down to the dugout was beacause boo's n jeers rang round the ground - i soon then spotted kingy heading for the dugout - IF you want him in the dugout why boo him when he goes there?! :-))(

People from the town end, thankyou for your continued chanting and input into the atmosphere. Where i sit, is basically a bunch of people who have a go at you for shouting so i always just have to clap, annoying. But every away match i get to chant, which is alright.

I sat in the Town End last night and was pretty embarressed, more annoyed with the bum-fluffed moustache moron I had the displeasure of sitting next too! Who didn't have a freakin' clue what he was shouting (and I mean shouting) about, pausing in between sentences because he didn't even know what he was going on about (he rivals the two chavs from last season who didn't know where Colchester was... there's more to the story but it annoys me just thinking about it!)

The fickleness was incredible last night. Pro-King & Swindon collective chants minutes, no, seconds after the Anti-King & Swindon collective chants had ended.

I've been in the Town End since the END of terracing and the occasional "Kid a Quid" and will probably stay there.... It's cheaper and for now I am poor!
