Decided to jump off of the Apple bandwagon and get myself a HTC One as it is the only other phone that comes close to the build quality of an Apple.  Never used Android.  Has anyone else done this, and how did you get on?  Is it a massive learning curve or one that is quite easy once you get on with it?

Anyone else got a HTC One? Would be interested to hear what you think rather than the usual reviews (which are very complimentary)

I replaced my iPhone with an S3, couldn't be happier with it aside from one small issue that is nothing to do with Android so isn't relevant.

Nexus 4 has similar specs.

I love mine (although I'm using my shitty old HTC Sensation at the moment).

I think the Samsung is too plasticy, that's why I held off switching.  HTC One is the first one that has pushed me over

Really?  Are you sure you are not talking about the HTC One X or S.  The HTC One has only been out a few weeks.

Must admit I have been thinking of dumping all my Apple products. I used to look cool sitting in Starbucks with my iPhone and Macbook, now every fucker has them and I look common as muck. Not good for my image.

The only problem with Sony is they take absolutely cunting ages to action Android updates (if ever). Suppose it may not be a problem for most, and may be different for their flagship product.

If build quality is important you should take a look at the Nokia Lumia range of phones.... Tank like but nice to look at

There's always the S3 mini, though I don't think the specs are as good.

I bought a Lumia 620 last month when they were on offer through O2 I think I paid £120.
I think it's pretty slick & great value. 

Despite what everyone thinks, I use Apple gear as it has the best integration and it just works. I work in IT but I don't want to spend my spare time messing about with my phone, tablet and laptop to get them to work properly.

Microsoft have improved a lot and have pretty much caught up with Apple and are better in some areas (such as the cloud). Main thing holding me back now is that everyone I know has iPhones and I don't want to be the odd one out, plus things like photo stream are cool.

Android ties you in with Google who I hate with a passion, plus there is no useable desktop platform.

I am looking to buy a new phone tomorrow, I would like a galaxy note, But think I would look a bit of a tool walking around with it, next would be the S3, then the I phone, any suggestions

You'd look a tool with any of those in all honesty ;)

Deffo going to get a Nexus 4 when I have the money. Would have got one this month but decided on renewing my ST instead.

I'm still rocking the Sensation. Going to flash it with vanilla android soon and it should last me another year.

I flashed JB (Cyanogenmod) on my old one Si and gave it to the wife. It's miles better than ICS + Sense.

Yeah, I'm waiting until the warranty is nearer to the end and when I can be bothered.

I've just been given a work iPhone. I have to say, I really don't like it. And that's compared to a Galaxy S2.

Maybe I'm just not used to it, having had Android phones for over three years.

I kind of need to buy an iPad for my little one (due to his transition to school), but my experience with the iPhone to date has put doubt in my mind. Maybe I just need to use it more, then I'll grow to love it. Maybe.
