Fairly certain that the semi-finals don't get scheduled until the end of the season as they're all televised

After the last two visits I'd be glad of not being able to make it.

Although we've won every game I've been to this season

I don't think I know anyone who actually wants to go back to Wembley. Most say they wouldn't go.

Which of course is an utter lie. I wouldn't want to go, but I'd have to.

Well I'll get slated for this, but here goes. I will go to the home semi with the wife and little 'un. I may even go to the away semi final, however, if we get to Wembley I am staying home to watch it on my flat screen HD TV. After shelling out approx £170 for the JPT tickets for all of us (I went to the Millwall play off final with my mate) there is no way I'm going to invest the best part of another £200 in the FA & FL. Sorry I'll leave it to other ST holders, the regular walk up on matchday supporters and the 22,000 glory hunters.

I will have our three ST for next term whether we are in league 1 or the championship. League Cup final & FA Cup I'd go to as a special event but the JPT and play off finals, no.

Not liking her attitude, she has a birthday every year....sounds like it could be a win-win for you , if only we could actually win at Wembley :)

That said, I missed Sheff U this game 'cause it was the Mrs birthday. It was a big one though in my defence.

There are only two outcomes to this plan.

1) We win, you regret your decision.
2) We lose, you gloat for eternity about your decision.

No SY, there are more...

3) I get well oiled before the game at home on the drink of my choice (not the green man's at much cheaper prices) have a legendary BBQ only and ex butcher can have ;o), drink whilst watching the game and get royally hammered after it and not have to worry about driving and celebrating a win quids in.
4) We lose, I'm, disapointed, well fed and still pissed without having to drive home with a face like a wet week end in Grimsby and quids in.

With this in mind, talk of play offs is making me sick. If we get 9 points from the next 4 (before Doncaster) maybe the attitude will change.

Of course I'm selling it, I'm in sales these days FFS! However, the football world relies on the fact that us supporters will blindly shell out ludicrous amounts of money at all levels without question. If perchance it's pissing with rain I move the BBQ into the garage and cook there, like I did on NYE with the neighbours.

Sorry to disapoint, but it is invitaion only with limited numbers and the invites have already been sent out.

Most people who know me seem to think it's a bluff and that good old Fatbasher will be there screaming his lungs out cheering on the team he's wedded to until death us do part, well they're wrong with a capital W. I'll go further, I won't go if we get in the PL either, again I'll leave that to the glory hunters and the prawn sarnie brigade. I will leave my details with the club to call me when we are back in the championship or div 1 though when all the above have fucked off back to the Cheskis and Man U's of this world.

In all seriousness, anybody who actually has that mindset is a tool.

So I'm a tool? Would that be a saw, hammer or maybe a chisel? No Sir, you're the "tool" whatever that means, for such an outspoken immature putdown of someones own personal decision not to go to matches.

You see, it is comments like yours that stop many genuine supporters posting on forums like TEF, they can't be arsed with negative shit.

FYI, I don't watch PL football even though I subscribe to Sky Sports. I like my kick off times to be 3pm on Saturdays and 7.45 Tuesdays. I have lived with lower league football played on the whole by genuine and honest football players plying their trade for forty years. What I see at the Premier end of the footballing pyramid makes my blood boil. There is more fun at the bottome of the PL than there is at the top. Why would I want to see my team fucked over every week end by teams with more income than some third world countries. Do you remember our last foray in the top flight? Oh we all had great expectations, turned out to be delusions of grandeur in the end and we are still paying for it one way or another. Just ask Pompey fans if it was worth it?

Whats the fucking point of supporting a football club if your going to give up once we're succesfull?

I think fatbasher's point is that following your team in the PL has become a massive pain in the arse, that overshadows substantially the fact your team has made it to the highest league, not least because of cost...and there's all the other bullshit that comes with it. It's not an unreasonable point to make.

I don't disagree with that. On the other hand, we won't get a better chance of going up than this. If we don't go up this time around, it could be a long season next year and it could be a long time before we find ourselves in this position again. I've said before, I'm desperate to see us back in the Championship before I die of old age. On that basis, I hope to fuck we do go up this season.

Women always refer to the big event as 'my wedding' rather than 'our wedding' - must be some psychological reason for that!

Like a lot of people I do not fancy a play off final at Wembley either but am of the opinion that whenever a chance is there to get promotion than it has to be taken (although would much prefer it to be automatic.)

You only have to look at the beaten play-off teams of last year  - Sheff. Utd./Franchise/Stevenage and only Utd. are back in the frame currently and that could easily change the way the division is going, so thinking that missing out this season and then going well next does not always work.

Also,

I can see where Fatbasher is coming from but once again if we ever had the chance to get in the PL for a second time I would gladly take it and try to put the horror of the first time to bed!

Hahaha I did say my wedding didn't I!
It's the roughly £150 each we spent last time on a good day out that was ruined by 90 mins of football that mainly would be a tad annoying the week before an extremely pricey glorified party!

Where you getting married JFW? Reception at the libby?
