Title: Kindle display
Post by: walcot red on Monday, February 11, 2013, 19:03:25
Got a problem with my kindle, looks like some of the display is fucked it still displays some words of a book I've been reading in the bottom of the screen. I can see it displays properly at the top of the screen. Is it fixable?

See what Amazon say... my girlfriend sat on hers (thus ruining the screen), and they replaced it free of charge!

How long did she have it for? I've had mine for a year, do you reckon it'll be a problem?

Warranty is 12 months. Still worth a try though, they'll want you to keep buying stuff from the kindle store.

Stupid question, you have tried a reset right? On my Kindle keyboard it was holding the power slider open for 20 seconds, but your model must be much newer.

Bit of a long shot I know..

This. My daughter stood on hers when it was just out of warranty - contacted Amazon and they arranged to collect the old one and sent a new one free of charge.

Amazon customer service will be able to tell you more about your specific problem, hopefully it's  technical issue that can be solved or replaced at their cost. They don't replace screens though, but they do give discounts on replacements, which is great if you've already claimed on your travel insurance.
