They've sold some as I've bought some. Most usually pay on the day for this one though. It's a long old poke and we usually get the whole end. We've never come close to filling it yet.

Even though we beat them 5-0. This will be a hard game. The first goal will be important and they collapsed when the first one went in. Not too bothered about it being an away game as our away form has been good this season. Also to come away from Bournemouth with a draw at their ground re affirms this as for me us and Bournemouth are currently the best two teams in this division. Incidentally I think Bournemouth will win the playoffs if we get automatic.

Depends how soft the Scot's accents are. There's a filthy insinuation with a Scouse bird. It's like Brummie birds, but without the "2 girls 1 cup" feel to the levels of their filthiness.

A bit distasteful that. I thought about waving a tenner at the Portsmouth fans but I never did and neither was there any chants of the like from our fans. Back in 82, in the early days of Div 4 we had a bucket collection for Tranmere, so they could fulfil the fixture, they were that broke.  We were getting a respectable 4000+ in Div 4, whereas Tranny averaged 1900 for the season. I felt our largesse was justified by the fine reaction of their fans to the PO defeat at Prenton Park...nevertheless the internet age has allowed thier more stupid fans a platform...

Have just had a glance at oddschecker and see we're joint favourites at a lot of sites with Doncaster to win the league at 4-1 while Tranmere are out at 6-1. Amazing how even the bookies are continuing to underestimate Tranmere. They just beat Brentford away 2-1 and are 6 points ahead of them in the league, with 7 very winnable fixtures after playing us (and the easiest run-in altogether out of all of us as far as i'm concerned), but still find themselves behind Brentford (and us) in most bookies estimation for winning league 1 outright.

As far as i'm concerned I don't think the predicted implosion of form is going to happen, they've shown themselves too consistent over this long a period of time. If we don't win on Saturday then it will be some task finding the consistency to overhaul the current deficit even with games in hand.

Ronnie Moore was on 5 live in the week and saying how much they are looking forward to playing us again.
In his own words...Swindon were superb in the 5-0 win and really could have scored ten.

I used to hate Ronnie Moore, always used to score against us. him and Alan Buckley ruined (some) of my childhood, He's done a damn good job there though and they'll certainly be in the mix for top 2 now, can't see them falling away.

You have to hand it to Ronnie Moore and Tranmere, they probably would have expected to be battling away at the bottom of the league but they have astounded everyone this season.

That said we murdered them at home so maybe the standard of league 1 isn't very good this season!

Nowt wrong with the standard of league one Bob, we're just better than we usually are (and were better on the day). It makes a refreshing change.

Tranmere have done well since that 5-0 and there is a feeling that it was a one-off. Would love to go there and win again not only for the obvious but just to make the league aware that we are serious title contenders.

I travelled a whole mile to watch the Preston debacle, and then had to walk that mile home afterwards. I was disgusted.

Looking at Tranmere's home form, they've lost to teams in and around the play offs (i.e Franchi$e and Donny) hopefully a good omen and we'll get a good result!

I know they are damned if they do and damned if they don't but the big thaw is coming right now, temps tomorrow will be +5 deg and frost will lift. An inspection tomorrow AM by 9.00 am would stop people travelling. I think this is too early in this case. Tranmere isn't exactly the most snowed under place in the Uk right now. Very odd decision, and very annoying. We really could do with not building up too many midweek games late in the season as tiredness does mount up. I am sure one of the reasons for out recent big wins has been the longer then normal recovery times, especially compared to teams we have played.

If you can't drive it then coach will be only option.  No chance of getting from Birkenhead to London (or anywhere south if Brum) on the train leaving after 10pm.

To be honest Crystall even if you were going by car you wouldn't want to leave much later than 1.15....the time our coach leaves.

Last time I went by SAS was Bolton away first game back in Div 3 - around 88. Our coach broek down so they had to put us on the others and i and 2 others ended up in the luggage compartment. Don;t think H&S would allow it now.
