Title: Crawley
Post by: ChalkyWhiteIsGod on Friday, January 18, 2013, 18:07:32
So it's a late kick off, whats the plan for most? I'm assuming many will take up the opportunity of more drinking time and have a few in London and maybe arrive at Crawley a little earlier than normal?

Post by: ChalkyWhiteIsGod on Friday, January 18, 2013, 18:18:17
I have noticed there's also the as cheap and slightly quicker option of going through Reading and Red Hill, so some may not even be going to London?

Sorry Chalky, i've noticed that it's on Telly, so I'll be drinking on the sofa. (same with Yeovil and Doncaster)

I'll save my 100% away record (Stevenage, Walsall and Stoke) for other games

Going to this one with a couple of mates and have been asked to organise tickets. Phoned the ticket office today to find that they've sent all the tickets back to Creepy who had requested them back over their concern of us going into administration.  ::)
Looking like pay on the gate now !

I would think that if we were put into admin that Crawley would become a creditor, a-la Cheltenham not so long ago. So they didn't take the "risk". Shows what a mischievous headline can do.

Best/cheapest route is reading via redhill on the train, if I manage to get there I'll be having a few in Reading around lunchtime then training it down to Crawley!

Maybe or maybe they remember what they did when they were in admin themselves not that long ago. Something most of their fans seem to have forgotten about.

I say boycott the game and tell them where they can stick their tickets.  But that's easy for me to say because I wasn't going anyway.

Don't be such doom monger! It's only Friday that's forecast bad on BBC weather so if they get their arses in gear and take steps now to get the pitch sorted and keep it dry we shouldn't have a problem. I also don't want the hassle of having to get 3 match tickets refunded!

Crawley game was off last night too and we've only had a couple of days rain. More to come...

I think more effort than normal will be being made to get it on mind. Afterall, it's on Sky!

I also hope we take a shit load down there and tell them to shove their advance ticket sales up their ass and do them on the pitch! Hopefully we'll take more and they'll have to give us more areas (sadly I can't see it happening due to Sky)

Also-if Crawley have cancelled last nights game in hope their pitch stays good for the Sky money, is there some rumour to be had they're in a bit of money trouble themselves?  :sherlock:  ;)

Didn't you hear? Crawley are £23 Million in debt and unless they sell players before tomorrow, admin is very likely.

All those years of overspending have finally caught up with them.

Must have missed that one Langers, could it be overspending on Steve Evans' endless supply of pies from the past 3 seasons?

I get what you are saying JJ, I would love to have been watching the game with Ritchie lining up on the wing as normal.

That said, whats done is done and we are back to playing football again. It is going to be a good test to see how we get on without him. RDV and Roberts as our wide players for Saturday do we think?

Title: Re: Crawley
Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, February 1, 2013, 13:30:12
Has to be RDV on the left with Roberts on the right, that is unless Paolo wants to spring a surprise and pick Rooney.....nah that aint gonna happen!

The pitch will be a massive leveller (ironic choice of words!) with it being bumpy and possibly the worst pitch in the league currently.

Could be a game of long balls which will suit them more than us I feel but so many new signings for them will cause some hopeful disharmony on the pitch, will be an interesting game and one that we can easily win.

I'd love to be there, but looking forward to watching it in Kennedy's bar in Munich, with among others Nochee and his wife. Two other Munich-based die-hard fans too. Should be a good afternoon and evening, our game following the England-Scotland match. We have tables booked and the bar has guaranteed at least one screen for our obviously more important game.
I hope the weather in Sussex is better than here!

Some quotes from the Creepy forums, to show how they think about the situation....

Suggestions for "ahem" witty songs to be sung about us and "Dick Canio" their term not mine.
Quote
Paolo di Canio,
He can't stop spending dough,
He spent too much of it,
And his team is still shit.
And repeat....

How about
"Paolo di Canio,
Il duce culo,
Il duce culo,
Paolo di Canio"

Not sure exactly how that translates but the Italians I used to live with used "culo" quite a bit so I imagine it's in fairly common usage.

Acoording to sky sports news he is fuming about matt ritchie being sold without his knowledge behind his back etc.He is calling it a breach of his contract, he doesnt know how much longer he can work in this environment and is considering his future so hopefully after we beat swindon he might be so fuck off he might quit! Now that would be good news so some p45 songs maybe right

"There's only one Matt Ritchie" might be a laugh.

It's got to be "shadup your face"By Joe Dolce.
In our best Italian accents we could try and sing.........
"what's a matter Palo....you gotta no respect.....it's sa not sa bad......Broadfield sa nicer place.......so shadup your face.

"Di Canio's a mushroom, Di Canio's a mushroom", etc

"It's all going tits up over there, oh it's all going tits up over there, oh its all going tits up, all going tits up, it's all going tits up over there" (in the direction of him and Swinedon fans generally

Tinpot club tinpot fans tinpot songs.

You know what that's precisely what I did. Shared the cab with a couple other late Town fans too.

I really enjoyed it to be honest. We got there at 10 as we had a few things to do in the area. Whilst getting our tickets some lady came up to my boys and asked if they want to go and see the pitch and sit in the dug out. They were delighted by this and we had a good chat about football and Swindon. This was going above and beyond duties. Even managed to get a spot in the club car park. My boy was mascot for the Town and they looked after him so well. He had an amazing time. Thank you Crawley fc. The game was OK. Swindon made hard work of it. Both penalties were very soft but it was the bit of luck Town needed. For the second game running I thought Town looked very week going forward. Chris Martin isn't a footballer is he? He is not playing like one and he doesn't look like one. I thought our Defence and Midfield were solid. Ward, Mca, RDV Were outstanding. Great following and noise from the Town fans. My kids had lots of fun so what else apart from a win could I have wanted?
