i brought myself an Xbox on Saturday.
Sold my PS2 at christmas and have been without a games console for 7 months.
for £110 i got 2 games and an extra controller. Also PES4 was down as a classic games and only cost me £12 :mrgreen:

I got myself an xbox off ebay about 4 months ago, £117 which £7 was postage, 2 control pads & 8 games. I had to go and buy PES4 but it only cost me £19.99.

Danjackson:- yes its good on the xbox more or less the same as the PS2 version, the new xbox comes out in November whilst they reckon the PS3 wont be out till late 2006. :mrgreen:

the xbox 360 looks good but i think the new PS3 is gonna be the daddy again.

PES4 is hard. I'm still finding it difficult to score on 3 star :evil:

on PES2 i was winning everything on 5 star but that was the last one i played. Didn't like PES3

Nah i think the xbox will come out on top just for the fact that the graphics are going to better and the online play is way way better than anything Sony can throw at it.

Be patient Magic, i had trouble scoring the first time i played it but as soon as you start scoring you'll pick up ways of knocking them in. When you cross the ball press (B)Red button and it'll dip making it easier for an attacker to head it in. :D

i use B to cross (had to pretend i was holding a control then for a second :oops: ).

did a trick yesterday where the guy scoops it up over his head with the defender behind him. Fuck knows where that came from or how i did it.

Yeah you do that just by luck as ive found out quite a few times, yeah cross it with B and then press it to dip the ball.

ah you have to press it again whilst it's in the air??

any tips for shooting???

Yeah whilst its in the air mate, i cant really give you any tips for shooting although ive managed to score a couple of top corner screamers and my mate scored from the half way line against me. Shooting is all to do with luck in this game as i usually curl it wide of the post.

yeah someone from Slovakia scored a screamer against me yesterday.
Must have been 35+ yards out. James the dinkey just stood there and watched it.

 :mrgreen:  yeah some of the keepers are quite worrying, ive had plenty of incidents where keepers stand there watching the ball as it trickles over the line. :evil:

how much is the online stuff and is it easy to use??
i quite fancy playing people online.

I got mine for £29.99 from play.com, it lasts for 12 months and its quite easy to set up. Ive whooped quite a few foreigners online.

I always choose Spain for PES4.  Give it to the boy Torres behind the front two, and he is a legend.

Inter are my favourite club side on the game, Adriano and Martins up front are different gwavy. :D

do i need a router though??

I dont use one ive just got a nice long ethernet cable which i plug into my moden and then into the back of the xbox.

if it's that easy i am tempted.

You cant specifically set up a league, but theres plenty of Pro Evo sites on the net where you arrange games and they do a league table from there.

Are the PC and Xbox versions compatable? ie. if i was on my pc could I play you boys on your xboxes?

I have it for the pc, the online thing is good, I can beat most people.

Pes5 they need to make the replays longer so you don't miss the buildup and make players like Rooney, Cech, Lampard and Terry better as they aren't as good in the game as they really are at the moment.

Quite right Ben.  They also need to improve the AI of the players in general, some of them are just plain thick!

I'm keeping the faith that Rooney et. al. will be given the boost they need.

I scored a quality goal last night.

move started from keeper all the way through to a Scholes diving header.
had about 20 + passes all together.
When i scored it i even found myself clapping my own goal :|
then was looking forward to the replay only to see the cross then the header :evil:

Yeah the proper goals which take ages to build up while your pulling the opposition all over the place need to be covered by the replay much better.

I agree. There is the same problem on FIFA. You only usually see the final touch and miss out the incredible run, cross-field ball, neat one two and defence-splitting through-ball which the striker runs on to!

I too am looking forward to its release. My mate has lent me Fifa 06 and it is utter dog shit.

the more i play fifa, the more wank it gets. i beat liverpool 4-3 on the hardest setting with norwich, without Ashton... :-))(

gameplay had better deliver my pes5 by saturday or i'm going to be fuming. monday is no good.

I've played it on my mates chipped xbox. Everything needs to be more accurate so it's harder. Graphics are miles better and the stadium detail is good. Through balls are definately much harder to execute especially the chipped ones. But you'll all see what I mean soon  :wink:

The graphics are almost identical to pes4 apart from the bits not in the the game

Pes5 didn't seem that hard from the demo, I don't let in many goals at all. Generally 0-0s or win 1-0 on 5*.

Main difference seemed to be you give away more free kicks when you're closing players down if you're not careful. Also seemed to be easier to shoot and corners are easier to get the right power.

I'm going to have to wait at least another week before I get the real thing. :(

They're giving it away on Radio 1.  You need to give them a good story about pro evo (like something funny happening for example).  I can't think of anything though

I've always found corners to be a real piece of piss anyway - should bag even more now then. :mrgreen:
